SAW: WWE '13 Booking rough draft

I do this stupid spreadsheet every year to keep things straight in my head when I'm playing.  With Universe mode, this helps me set my brands up the way I'd like too.

As far as I can tell, this will be the most customizable Universe Mode yet.  I didn't understand last year's mode.  I'd put Demolition in FCW or something, and the next week they'd still be booked on RAW.  Then I'd give all the belts I didn't want to use to HHH, who I'd assign to FCW as well, then the next week Dolph or somebody would still come out with a belt I didn't want him to have, and HHH would be booked in the RAW main event.  Hopefully they worked all that stuff out.  If not, I'm just gonna make my own stories and upload them to the Creation Suite, which will hopefully work this year.

Evan Bourne is in this, right?  I have a great drug addiction/sexual identity storyline I want to do with him that will be more riveting than an episode of Melrose Place.  Yeah...MELROSE PLACE.

Yeah, Universe mode is sounding like it might just deliver on the promise of last year's.

And I've never played the story mode on one of these, but I guess I'll give it a shot this year since they've revamped it so. Just please, no wandering around backstage. That shit took forever. What I dug about the universe mode was -- even imperfect as it was -- stemmed from its power to pump out matches with just a sprinkle of story.

ALSO: Glad Bourne's in it. Sad that Regal didn't make the cut.

Yeah...story mode...way too much punch fighting by the vending  machines last year.

I remember walking around campus IN COLLEGE with tournament brackets for the "WCW vs. The World" in my pocket, all in anticipation of the matches that I planned to play when I returned home that weekend.

It has Living Colour's "Vivid" in tape player too.  It's a 2001.

The match play in this one may be the smoothest yet.

I had to play Shawn Michaels vs. British Bulldog from One Night Stand 1997 like 4 times before I got all the objectives, and it was great every time.

I forgot all about Dude Love and Mankind introducing Cactus Jack to MSG.  It's all in the game.

Fun times.

This game is gorgeous!

I'm actually playing through the Attitude Era to unlock everything.  It's FUN.

I'm really digging the crowd noise level.  When a guy hits a finisher or a big move they get really into the match and then it dies down again if it continues.  I also like the pin kick out system way better this year.

I'm unlocking everything to old fashion way also.  It's cool.

I cheap unlocked it all. That way I can ensure movesets are legit.

How do you cheap unlock it?

I hate having to do matches to unlock things.

NVM, I read that it's part of the DLC but I just didn't see it.

It's confusing, because even after you buy that you have to go into the unlocakables section and click something to unlock everything.

Still haven't had a chance to play this! It's been in the machine since Tuesday night. Hopefully I'll fire it up over lunch today.

So I've only played one match and I think I LOVE the pre-match slider where you get to choose where you want the match to fall on the squash to epic slider.

I gave Shamrock a finisher, set it for squash and DESTROYED X-Pac in a minute or so.

Lovely feature, especially for quick casual matches.

I haven't even noticed this as I've been playing Attitude mode.

Are you telling me there is a way, before every exhibition match, to change the match to either a squash match or an epic match?  Because that's fuggin brilliant if true!

So are there any fat guys to replace Vader? Brodus Clay and Mark Henry need a new tag partner.

Why are you replacing Vader?

Also, I unlocked everything last night using the DLC so I need to start building my rosters and stables.

It's true! I haven't tried epic yet, but I enjoyed a couple of normal matches (Vader/Shamrock and Bryan/Miz) before doing a squash of Vader/Heath. It's heavenly.

Really impressed with the game thus far.

Vader is still in the game! But if you need another big man, pick up Rikishi via DLC. They did him up right.

But first decide if you want DDP and classic Goldust. You only get those if you buy the $20 axcess thingy.
