so is there a way to play with the xbox 360 controller?  i really don't like using keyboard/mouse, much easier for me to use a controller

If this doesn't work for you, there's another option:

I can help you use a program used for assigning keyboard commands to gamepads, called joy2key, if you're rather try that.  Using it is pretty self explanatory, but setting up the right stick to move the camera can be tricky.
