Just co-oped a few chapters with F.E.A.R. 3.

Playing as Paxton Fettel is awesome.  Maybe Point Man dies less thanks to a reliable bullet time and ranged weapons, but nothing beats body snatching an enemy, shooting down half his squad, than when his body dies, just levitating and exploding the rest.  :D

Yeah, Hot Pursuit & Fallout:NV will definitely be cheaper during the next sale.

Fallout NV was 4.99 on a flash sale last night.  Might get as cheap, but I doubt any cheaper.  ^_^

I'm currently debating Civ V.  Haven't played a Civ game since Civilization on the SNES.  Plus it isn't really a game that is "beatable" so I don't need to worry about adding another game to my insane back log of unbeaten games.

Also debating grabbing the F.E.A.R. bundle now that I see they have it since I loved the first one but don't have a copy of it anymore.

I'm definitely getting the F.E.A.R. bundle as I want to get my copy of the first back and at that price it's totally worth the rest of them.

If I'm getting a Civ it'll be the newest as I know more people who play it. Plus Hex grid > Square Grid

i've put over 300 hours into civ 5 and have beaten it on hardest difficulty, while civ 4 i am only a king/immortal level plater.  just find it harder, both are highly addictive though.

i reccomend it.

Less than the price of one new console game, or at most three used console games.  :D

Nice list.  Limbo ate up an entire night, I couldn't stop playing it.

Damned spider.

Anyways, Beyond Good and Evil is probably going to be my last purchase for now..  Portal 2 was tempting, but it can wait.

That S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bundle looks enticing though..  Since I already have Fallout 3 and F.E.A.R., is it really something I'd want though?  I mean, it basically looks like a mix of F.E.A.R. tension, Half Life 2 gameplay, and Fallout like RPG play...

Like I ranted earlier, I ended up buying 1 and 3 separate.  My own fault, for taking advice from a computer nerd that thinks the only reason to buy a game is because of multiplayer considerations.  :( (At the time of his advice, I assumed 3 was the best of the bunch, and the only one worth playing.)

Maybe I'm better off though..  From what I've read, 1 is must play, and 3 is co-op-tastic, while 2 is good, but doesn't really bring much more to the table than longer boss fights...

I haven't played 2 or 3 so can't really formulate an opinion other than the fact that the co-op mode for 3 breaks the game and makes it easy mode from what everybody who has played it told me.

It seems to be universally accepted though that the first is the best.  I know I loved the shit out of it.  I ran a netcafe at the time and kept tricking people into playing it as it was installed on our systems.  Their high pitched squeals of terror filling the building were so satisfying.

Oh, co-op makes it easy as hell.  By himself, Fettel's pretty overpowered, but with a partner you could use your powers to basically make him invulnerable, or levitate targets while you and your teammate blast the hell out of him.  Parts that used to be hard, like the first mech battle, become easy because you can body swap into an enemy carrying a sniper rocket launcher.  And any time you go down, your teammate could revive you quickly..  Unless you're careless, you shouldn't really ever die (And I die pretty often!  :p )

But playing as Fettel is just so much fun...  This is what gameplay as Darth Vader should be like.  If you ever get the game and have someone to co-op with, insist on never being the server, who must be Point Man.  :D

i got lucky and found it on greenmangaming for like 17 bucks, felt like steam wouldn't have it that low for summer sale since it's so new.

I just got Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Now if System Shock 1 & 2 would hurry up and get on Steam, I'll have all the great RPG's for the PC.

I still have my hard disk copy of Bloodlines.  Amazing game that unfortunately has to many bugs in it that never got fixed.  The community itself is constantly working on unofficial patches. There are two big competing ones.  They still don't fix everything as a lot of the bugs with the game are due to the fact it was built on the Source Beta Engine and nobody has access to that to try and fix shit

I bought the 2.5 disk version of System Shock 1, and later a CD version in a pack years ago, along with Bioforge, Wing Commander 3..  Pretty good deal for pre Steam days.

Yeah, I'd probably buy it all over again on Steam, if they made it compatible with modern hardware, and maybe added some extras or tweaked the graphics a little.

Privateer, too.  They sold it in a sort of "greatest hits" type package, but they did NOTHING to make it compatible with modern tech.  And setting up a 95/98 machine for that game is about as easy as going through a step by step boot of DOS, and doing a trial and error disabling to see what works..

Didn't think this deserves it's own thread, so even though I got it off digital download via Amazon and not Steam, I'll post it here:

Just picked up vanilla Street Fighter IV, mainly to play with a friend who also has the vanilla version (And besides, I hear the Arcade edition runs slower on low end systems)

So if anyone has this version for the PC, I'll gladly kick your ass.  :D

Sounds like a plan.  I'll try not to die "too" early and make you have to handle the hordes alone.  ^_^

so is there a way to play with the xbox 360 controller?  i really don't like using keyboard/mouse, much easier for me to use a controller
