Blogging, Podcasts and The Like
« on: August 31, 2010, 09:57:55 AM »
Post links to your pertinent wrestling media here, whether written by you or by someone else.

http://wallsofjerichoholic.blogspot.com - My blog
http://www.camelclutchblog.com - The Camel Clutch Blog, where I write once or twice a week.

Also, maybe we can get the ball rolling on an A1 podcast? I'm functionally braindead when it comes to podcasting, so if someone can give me a simple tutorial on the easiest possible way to produce one, I will gladly spearhead the project.

For the record, I have no idea how the technical side of it works. I walk into a room each week and an audiovisual department handles it.

I didn't want you to think I was holding back insider info, because I have none as far as the tech side goes.

It's a Florida radio show that puts their show up for download. Probably the most professional quality you'll find from a sound and production standpoint. But of course it is meant for radio and all. New shows are put up on Tuesdays.

For a solo show, it's really really easy, get a quality mic.  There's free recording and editing software, just google them, you'll find some good stuff.

Now for a multiple man show, especially if you're doing a show with those across the country, that's a little more complicated, easiest way I know is through skype, though I don't know if you can find something that can do multiple skype conversations and record at the same time.

You can do multiple skype conversations with audio only. You can only do 1:1 with video in skype.

I'd be interested in working on this.

Well shoot, audio is all we need.  Now we need to figure out what times/days is best for everyone to do a record and go from there.

For Skype-to-Skype calls yes it is.

I listen to Fritz and Vito every week.  Two questions.  What happened to DLo?  They never said exactly, and I thought he was fantastic on the show.  And two, does Jim from Virginia freak you out as much as he does me?  Guy watches women's wrestling nonstop, pretty creepy.

So that's where he went to.  He would talk about the same things on the Wrestling Observer Live show every week before they changed how they record their shows.

Maybe we could start by doing a post-RAW and iMPACT! show? Or, do a single show Thursday night or on the weekends that covers both shows (and then anything else going on in the indies and such)?

Are we planning on doing just wrestling?  I was thinking we could do stuff that would run the gammit, focus on wrestling, but talk about other things as well.

Personally, for the most part, I'm available after 10:30 PM EST because I work in the evenings.

Tuesday's probably the best night for me for now, although I could swing Thursday as well. Wednesday is bad because that's my Weight Watchers night, and the other four nights are obvious.

Yeah, focus on wrestling, but we could also touch on MMA, and whatever else.

Tuesday is not bad... we could cover Thursday's iMPACT, Friday's Smackdown, and Monday's RAW, amongst whatever else we discuss.

I could be wrong but I think he might have left given that he does have a legit job in TNA and he'd be gone every other week anyway. I agree he was great on the show though I miss Dickerman's smartassedness a lot.

Tuesday or Thursday would probably be best for me. I dunno about hosting, but I think I could contribute in calling or being some sort of sideshow.  ;D

Sounds like Tuesday is a pretty good day. I've got all the software for recording and such. Anyone got a good heavy song for a theme?

Major bias being shown here, and my idea of "heavy" isn't the norm.
