I believe they were the first English team to ever win at Dortmund. Puts us in great position to advance from the Group of Death. Still, unless we whomp Manchester United this weekend, the media will still say we aren't legit.

I want to destroy Man U so bad. I hope Van Persie breaks his leg.

12 hours until the biggest match of the season so far for Arsenal. Yes, bigger than at Dortmund or Liverpool. If they can beat Man U, they will shut the media up and make my dick hard. They probably only care about the first one.

Losing 1-0 at Man U missing Mertesacker, Walcott, Chamberlain and Podolski doesn't put me into a deep depression. Annoyed, but not depressed.

Ozil and Cazorla were shit too, I've never seen Santi subbed off unless he's knacked. Apparently the bug that did for Mertesacker and Rosicky affected the rest of the team.  Plus while they have an awesome midfield they need wingers back for a different option. Not that I'm not disappointed, but what the hell.

And I would like to fire bendtner into the heart of the sun.

Yeah, I heard Arteta was a scratch too until the last second. Man U has been much better of late, so only losing 1-0 down so may guys isn't the end of the world. I think the results will be a lot different when they visit the Emirates later in the year.

All in all, that 5 game death stretch wasn't that bad. We outplayed Dortmund but lost 2-1. I am not counting that Chelsea loss because we didn't field a real team and neither did they. We beat Liverpool 2-0 and then went to Dortmund and beat them 1-0. Really, not too shabby. The amount of games played may catch up to us eventually, which is why it is essential we get healthy and shore up the bench during the January transfer window.

http://deadspin.com/but-seriously-what-was-southamptons-keeper-doing-on-t-1470245235

What an arse. What the hell was he doing? Complete gimme goal for Arsenal, as was the second on a silly holding penalty in the box which led to Giroud's second call. Arsenal did play well, controlling the game and hitting the post twice. Southhampton didn't really have much offense outside of the first 10 minutes. They deserved the loss, although not with 2 ridiculous goals.

Very good bounce back win for Arsenal. Walcott is back and adds much needed depth. It's kind of a miracle they were still in first with all of their injuries.

That's hilarious.  Premier League is a lot more interesting this season with more contenders for the top spots.  Since I have been following, only a Manchester club or Chelsea have won the title.

Yeah, United is making a comeback and will be strong contenders in the 2nd half, but the league is more predictable than the NBA. I think only 8 teams have won the last 35 titles. The Premier League is probably 6 teams since it started.

Southhampton play great defense, but they do not have the offense to contend. They are Top 6, not Top 3. Liverpool will always be dangerous as long as Suarez and Sturridge get along. Tottenham should fall a bit more, they just aren't contenders. Chelsea, City, Arsenal and United are still the Top 4 teams despite what the standings say. Only difference is Arsenal put it together while United slipped a bit.

Maybe give Giroud next week off if everyone is healthy. He looks tired and is not focused. Today's mistake was ridiculous.

Still, good win by Arsenal against a team that plays it's best against the Elite of the league. Aaron Ramsey is the truth and Ozil finally had another good game.

7 points up with the other contenders playing tomorrow. Tottenham desperately needs to win if they want to stay relevant and Southampton needs to beat Chelsea to prove they are worthy as opposed to just a great defensive team.

Man City will win by 73 goals, obviously.

Liverpool lost 3-1 to Hull City and deserved to lose too. Without Sturridge, they just don't have a complete attack. Suarez is like Sidney Crosby in that he is the most talented scorer in the league, but he is also the biggest crybaby pussy. So many times he dove and overplayed injuries even the announcers were trashing him.

Tottenham tied Man U which is good for Arsenal and the Spurs. Arsenal builds on their lead and the Spurs bounce back from a beating to tie one of the hottest teams in the league.

Southampton scored within 14 seconds due to Chelsea stupidity, but the rest of the game was all Chelsea. Still a few minutes left, but it's over. Southampton just can't contend without an attack. Now it's 3-1 as I type this. This game exposed them badly.

Man City won 4-0 or whatever. They have a lot of talent, but they are just racking up goals in garbage time to win the goal differential. Most teams who are up 3-0 with 7 minutes left will just play keepaway, City keeps going and runs up the score.

1. Arsenal 31 Points
2. Chelsea 27 Points
3. Man City 25 Points
4. Liverpool 24 Points
5. Everton(LOL!!!!) 24 Points
8. Man U 22 Points

It's cute that Everton thinks it's people, but you can't have more draws than wins and expect to finish Top 4.

SO FUCKING CLOSE!

Went up 1-0 in the 80th minute with an  Ozil goal and then 3 minutes later gave it right back with some terrible defense. Great strike by the Everton player, but he had no right being that close to the net. If not for our keeper, we would've lost 2-1.

Giroud almost won it in the 94th minute but hit the crossbar. He's been missing a lot lately.

All in all, Everton really were the better side, so you can't be too upset with getting a point. Gunners are now 5 clear of Liverpool and 13 clear of Man U which is all that matters because fuck Man U. Next week at Man City will be a huge test. Gotta come away there with at least a point.

Arsenal will either draw an awesome team from Spain, Bayern or PSG in the Champions League knockout round.

I am not too familiar with the Champions League. Is every team going to get fucked like Arsenal because only very good teams remain or did we just get unlucky?

Arsenal needed a point today to clinch first in their Champions League group.  They lost at Napoli and Dortmund edged them out for first by Goal Differential.  Napoli finished 3rd and will play in the Europa League.

The Round of 16 Draw is on Monday.  The winners of each of the 8 groups are in one pot and the other 8 teams are in a second pot.  For the Round of 16, you cannot be drawn against a team who was in your group (i.e. Arsenal cannot play Dortmund in the Round of 16) and you cannot be drawn against a team from your domestic league (ManU and Chelsea won their groups).

That leaves 5 possible opponents for Arsenal:

Bayern Munich
PSG
Real Madrid
Barcelona
Atletico Madrid

1 more point in the group and their opponent would have come from this bunch:

Bayer Leverkusen
Schalke
Galatasaray
Olympiakos
Zenit St. Petersburg
Milan

A stark difference.

Excellent breakdown, thank you.

Unfortunately for Arsenal, they are in a 5 game stretch where they have to pick and choose their battles. They took it a bit easy today so that they can be better prepared for Man City on Saturday. Winning the Premier League is more likely than winning the Champions League.

I think supporters would be ecstatic if we went one more round. So, the next round is just head to head twice and the better goals scored is the winner?

Yes, next round is head to head twice (home and away) with the tiebreaker being away goals scored.  For the quarterfinals, the 8 teams remaining are re-drawn and there are no restrictions as far as which team you can be drawn against.

That sucked. Man City is just unstoppable at home, have no idea what happens to them on the road.

Like I said about them though, when most teams are up by 2 goals in stoppage time, they kind of just run out the clock, Man City just keeps it going through garbage time to pad the stats. Nice to see Walcott play well, although Man City's only defense is controlling the ball on the offensive end.

Good to get the Manchester teams on the road early on, that way they come to the Emirates when things wind down.

Why the fuck do they play prevent defense in soccer? You just allow the other team scoring opportunities nonstop. Even the announcers were calling it stupid. Regardless, Arsenal win 1-0 on a Giroud header which seemed so easy that no one reacted. He missed an easy goal 4 minutes later which erased all goodwill from his goal, but a win is a win.

After Arsenal was lucky enough to draw against the cheap Chelsea and their favorite referee, Arsenal will head into 2014 top of the table. I don't know if they can hold on as is without another striker unless Podolski starts to shine, but Giroud and Ramsey have been absent for awhile now. It will be tough, even with fucking Man U making a run, but they are much deeper than previous years and get Man U and Man City at home where neither team can win for shit.

Should be frustrating and fun.

Well, who knew missing 6 of your starters due to injury would be difficult?

Bendtner somehow scores a nice goal in the 88th minute, followed by a pretty Walcott goal in the 92nd minute and Arsenal escape with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City and their insane owner who rules his team based on the laws of Feng Shui. Walcott has 5 goals in 5 games, but I still say Wenger goes out and gets another striker. The top of the table is just too tight. You can lead it one week and be in 6th place a few games later. Too much at risk. Running the table but dropping to second in the last week would be devastating and wouldn't feel like the progress it actually is.

Man U lost at home again because God is real. Praise Him. Praise His name.

Arsenal wins and another top player gets injured. Drink your fucking Milk!

Gunners just destroyed Tottenham despite what the 2-0 score said. Spursnever had a chance after the 5th minute. Walcott appears to have hurt his knee and was carted off. He did have time to mock the traveling Spurs fans by pointing out the score. The seriousness of his injury is not known yet, but he missed practically the whole season already and they played without Giroud, Ramsey and Ozil. Basically, their top 4 players.

Spurs are eliminated from the FA Cup and Arsenal moves onto Round 4. Seeing as how they will probably be bounced out of the Champions League by Bayern Munich(fuck you, schedule makers for this ridiculous path), they will go as hard towards the FA Cup as they do the Premier League to hedge their bets. Gotta come away with one trophy.

9 whole days off until their next match, very much needed rest for Giroud and others.

Walcott's ACL is gone. His season is over. They'll have to buy someone, I reckon. Someone fast and agile. Walcott was good because he made other teams nervous because he was so fast that defenders would have to keep an eye on him in case he got the ball and bolted. It made it easier for the midfield. Bums BUMS BUMS BUMS.

Wenger has a choice to make, try to get someone like Jackson Martinez to hold onto the Title this year, or wait and get someone they really want in the offseason.

At the start of the season, if you said Arsenal would finish in 2nd, we'd all high five and do white guy things. Now? It would be a letdown. They haven't been this close in years, they have to go all out.

I'd be happy with a trophy and second. First might be too much,  City are a killing machine at the moment, and their second string is as good as Arsenal. I can't seem City fucking up their form now. THey're scoring an average of 4 goals a game at home. That's unbelievable.
