Um. Yeah. You can be a really good wrestler even if others are better.  The alternative is that everyone who isnt the best, is not good.

He's not good, let alone really good, let alone the best.

He's carried a company on his shoulders for years on merch sales alone.  His work means that others can get paid and wrestle.  That takes skill and effort of a sort and giving him a belt is recognition of that.

If you want to talk from a straight non-sports entertainer perspective, when's the last time you saw a botch in a Cena match or even an interruption in the flow of one of his matches?  Granted his matches generally end the same way, but honestly if you watch the match up to that point, you can see the actual workrate in effect.

Cena is great. The problem is his character is dumb.

Tebow....more like Favre in purple and yellow.

Cena's really got your Hanes in a twist, now doesn't he?

Favre was the 2nd best player in the league, if not the best in 2009, in spite of how ugly the end was.

Comparing Favre to Tebow is just ridiculous.  They aren't anywhere even close to each other...

Sorry, my logic bits are yelling at me right now:

The initial comparison was John Cena to Tebow.  I said that this didn't make sense, and it was more like when Brett Favre put on a Vikings Jersey.  Great worker and got the queens to the playoffs in short order.  However, his original fan base (Packer Nation) hated his guts because of it.

The comparison is that people have lauded John Cena as a heel and hate him as a face.  He still puts up the workrate, however, no matter how hard you try to spin it.  He makes his opponents look good.  Not his fault you don't like the face character or the moveset he's locked-into when he's on offense.

Cena has had criticism for the way he portrays a face. He is sometimes goofy when he shd be angry.

But he mostly gets criticized because he's been on top for far too long and almost always wins when the odds are against him.

That said the comparison to Tebow was made in telation to his in ring ability. No one was arguing his fan base.
