Well it's official as of today, the DCCU is live and here's the long term plan with some hint of casting.

List of future films with some detail of casting and direction. There will also be stand alone Batman and Superman films.

Suicide Squad directed by David Ayer (2016)
Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot (2017)
Justice League Part One directed by Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
The Flash starring Ezra Miller (2018)
Aquaman starring Jason Momoa (2018)
Shazam (2019)
Justice League Part Two directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
Cyborg starring Ray Fisher (2020)

Some pieces of news. Remains to be seen if these are good or bad ideas til the next couple of films are out.


- There's a Harley Quinn spin off film in the works right now based on how much they liked Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad. It's going to be some type of team up film with another character unannounced.


- The guy who wrote last week's Flash is writing the Booster Gold film. He also helped write the first Thor film.


- Due to the backlash of BvS, Warner Bros. has just appointed Geoff Johns as the Kevin Feige of the DC cinematic universe along with John Berg.

DC really needs a Bruce Timm level talent for their movies.  (Any reason it can't BE Bruce Timm?  Assuming he wanted the job...?  Are animation people pigeonholed for life into only doing toons or something?)

That should be good.  They've been saying Affleck was just about having a nervous breakdown over Batman v Supermans reception, so to say there'll probably be tension is an understatement..

Jon Berg and Geoff Johns to help run DC Films. For those who don't know, Johns is a well known comic writer. He also helped adapt Flash to TV, wrote several episodes of Arrow, and helped with many of the DC Animated movies. He's a great fit for the job.

Best known as the guy who revived Hal Jordan, and revamped his mythology.  Sinesto Corp War, Blackest Night.

Johns isn't a bad choice, although imo he's hit or miss on his comic book writing.  But there's nobody better for a consultant role of all things DC, as there is very little he hasn't done.

Justice League now to be a stand alone film, not a two parter.

Plot synopsis

The main Villian will be the new god Steppenwolf, parademons will also play a part.
