New Japan Kizuna Road Night 2 Results 6/17

The Kizuna Road Tour continues with its second straight night at Korukuen Hall.

Yuya Uemera p. Yota Tsuji with a Double-Arm Suplex – The latest matchup in the never-ending feud between Uemera and Tsuji ended with a victory for Uemera. He debuted his double-arm suplex finisher to get the pin.

Tomoaki Honma & Toa Henare b. Yuji Nagata & Shota Umino when Henare pinned Umino with a Uranage – The teams were evenly matched for the first few minutes. Honma and Henare worked over Umino until he managed to tag in Nagata. Nagata held his own against both opponents and got a Nagata Lock on Henare. Honma made the save and Nagata tagged Umino back in. Honma and Hen are hit a double Kokeshi on Umino, but Nagata made the save. As Nagata and Honma battled on the floor, Henare hit a Uranage on Umino and got the pin.

Los Ingobernables De Japon (IWGP Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito, EVIL, SANADA, BUSHI, & Shingo Takagi) b, Kota Ibushi, Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask IV, Satoshi Kojima, & Yoshihiro Tenzan when Sanada submitted Tiger with a Skull End – The babyfaces got the shine in the beginning. Kojima hit Naito with the Machine Gun Chops. The heels turned the tide when Kojima went to the top and knocked everybody to the floor. When the match got back in the ring, they got the heat on Kojima. The match went back and forth with a lot of multi-man brawling. Eventually, everybody brawled on the floor leaving Sanada and Tiger in the ring. Sanada then got the submission from Tiger with the Skull End.

Bullet Club (Jay White, Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa, & Taiji Ishimori w/Gedo & Jado) b. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, Mikey Nicholls, & Ren Narita) wjen Ishimori submitted Ishimori with a crossface – The heels didn’t attack before the bell, but they didn’t take long to bring the battle to the floor. They got the heat on Tanahashi until Juice got the hot tag. The babyfaces cleaned house. As the heels regrouped, Narita tagged himself in. For a time, all the babyfaces had all the heels in submission holds. Ishimori reversed and put Narita in a crossface for the submission win.

NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Champions Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe, & Toru Yano Bullet Club (El Phantasmo, Chase Owens, & Yujiro Takahashi w/Nana) when Yano pinned Owens with a roll-up to retain the titles – Taguchi and Phantasmo started out and battled to a stalemate. Yano and Takahashi got the double tag, and soon the match had spilled to the floor. Yano got cut off and worked over. Finally, Makabe got the hot tag and ran wild. Taguchi tagged in a Fought ELP to a double down. After a double tag to Yano and Takahashi, the heels regrouped. The referee got bumped, which opened the door for Bullet Club to cheat. However, Yano and Makabe fended them off, and Yano low-blowed Owens and rolled him up for the pin.

CHAOS (IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada, NEVER Openweight Champion Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI, Sho, & Yo) b. Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Zack Sabre Jr., Taichi, Lance Archer, & Yoshinobu Kanemaru) in a Special Elimination Match when YOSHI-HASHI last eliminated Sabre – An Elimination Match in New Japan is similar to a Survivor Series match, except going over the top rope counts as an elimination. as usual, the match spilled to the floor and into the crowd. Suzuki went after Okada, while Sabre and Hashi squared off. Douki got involved as well, despite not being in the match. When the match finally made it back in the ring, the heels took turns torturing Hashi. Okada got the hot tag and ran wild. Eventually, Suzuki cut him off and grounded him with leglocks.

Here is the order of eliminations

  • Minoru Suzuki got disqualified for refusing to break the leglock on Okada when Okada made the rope break.
  • Okada eliminated Kanemaru by dropkicking him off the top turnbuckle to the floor
  • Archer eliminated Okada by throwing him over the top rope
  • Archer eliminated Sho over the top rope
  • Archer eliminated Yoh via pinfall with a claw hold
  • Ishii eliminated Archer over the top rope
  • Taichi eliminated Ishii over the top rope. Douki grabbed Ishii’s foot to keep him from getting back in the ring
  • Hashi threw Taichi over the top rope, but Douki had Red Shoes distracted

This left Hashi alone with Taichi and Sabre. It was the normal 2 on 1 heel advantage for a final elimination. Douki again tried to interfere but got superkicked to the floor. Hashi then eliminated Taichi over the top rope. Sabre grounded Hashi with his signature holds. Hashi fired up at the 30 minute mark and began his comeback. Sabre tied Hashi up win the ropes, but Hashi rallied and kicked him to the floor.

After the match, Hashi cut a promo challenging Zack Sabre Jr. for his spot in the G1.
