I'm not sure if this belongs in the Takeover thread or this thread, but my thoughts I posted on another board.....
My scrambled thoughts....
--I'm sitting in my lab at work, and was able to watch the entire show. Thank God nobody came in here after the 4 horsewomen hug and saw the tears in my eyes. No chance they would understand. But that was fucking special. There needs to be some way to tie it into tomorrow night though when Sasha is suddenly against PCB. WWE can't expect us to think that these are just alternate universes.
--Owens doesn't need to wrestle tomorrow night. This is fantasy booking at it's finest, but this would blow the damn roof off the place. Owens comes out, cuts a promo on Cesaro that he's not putting himself through a pointless match with NO PRIZE. However, he has a friend that is ready to graduate to the big leagues and is taking his spot. Adam Cole comes out in front of the smart crowd to a ridiculous ovation. Why? Because it'd be a complete surprise, and those don't really happen anymore. Owens helps him cheat to win, and you've planted the very first seed of a feud everybody could get behind. A little later in the show, the Matadores are laid out in the back and unable to compete. The announcers speculate about who will take their place, if anybody. A few minutes later you show Owens talking to Hunter, and shaking his hand (because this has happened before and continuity is fun). The announcers again speculate. Fast forward to the the tag match. The other three teams are in the ring when Owens music hits and he walks out with Cole. The place goes nuts. Owens and Cole, stop, turn around and point back at the entrance ramp to..........
THE YOUNG BUCKS. They win the tag titles, place goes apeshit. And now Mt. Rushmore has reformed and you have yourself one hell of a stable feud against Balor Club (which they hinted at tonight with Cesaro/Neville). Just in time for what? Fucking Survivor Series. And that's how you cater to a fanbase, having everything make sense along the way.Ok, back to reality. Some stupid shit with El Torito happens, and the Prime Time Players retain in front of crickets. That crowd, my God that crowd. I can't wait to read some reactions later tonight. I feel like wrestling just took a complete different turn. We've had great shows, but there's something brewing right now. Wrestling hasn't felt this way in a long time. Tonight feels like a bigger dose of the Nexus Raw. I have a feeling we see The Authority disappear from Raw and Trips goes full on face as he builds NXT up to challenge the main roster. All parties would be better off that way. A face authority figure like Regal or McGuiness that scarcely shows up to promote a match would be a welcome change to the Raw recipe. The heel authority figure has ran its course, and hopefully died tonight.Fuck what a night.
And one more thing. If New Japan and WWE do work out a deal, please God pair Nakamura with Heyman and just take all my money.
