Roman Reigns Wellness Violation

His first. 30 days.

He can participate in Battleground. Won't be around for build-up.

I'm curious what he tested positive for exactly.

I figure they knew about this for awhile and just maneuvered the timing so he wouldn't miss the next PPV. This would explain the clean job though. Wonder how they will write him off for a month and what the suspension was for anyway? He's looked bigger lately, probably steroids. I don't think they suspend for weed.

I'll give them credit though, this definitely gives the policy a lot more credibility than I gave it before.

He definitely looked bigger the last couple of weeks, and especially at the PPV. Also, the Wellness Policy excludes weed and alcohol. They fine for weed, though.

I'm shocked a guy with Reigns' clout wouldn't just go to Hunter or Vince and say "I want to get bigger with juice, so tell me what you don't test for or just don't test me". Vince is still juicing in his 70's, I'd be amazed if he had a problem with that.

I thought Vince said years ago that they had stopped testing for steroids. Did they start up again?

Yeah, they definitely test for steroids. I don't think they ever stopped, especially with Vince's history of trials on them. It would be foolish to proclaim he doesn't test for them......which means he probably said that.

According to some WWE guys I know, they get tested more often and more legit than NFL players

It sounds like he may have gotten some bad advice on what to take or how to cover it up.  He has too many people around him for things like this to happen.

On a different note, could this be for painkillers or anything of the like?

I think it would've been leaked if it were for painkillers he got without a prescription, because everyone assumes the worst until they know what really happened.

Plus, I'm sure he could've gotten a script very easily. So, all signs pointing to steroids right now.

...and if it was just a banned supplement or something like that I'd imagine that would have leaked by now too.  It had to be something intentional that he obviously should have known not to take.  Something Randy Orton would've used.

Saw a completely unverified rumor floating around Twitter today that Reigns was popped for the use of a fat burner.

I would hope that's false because that would be incredibly stupid and I wouldn't even blame WWE for sweeping that under the rug.

Hopefully not the Buddy Rose Blow Away Diet.

They stopped testing during the Monday Night Wars, because WCW had no steroid policy and was featuring Hogan and other juiceheads. WWE brought back steroid testing after Eddie Guerrero's death, and has consistently tested ever since.

You mean, there was no testing when The Rock and HHH were becoming popular? Inconceivable!

Is there any testing now for The Rock? There's blood in his cocaine stream.

Saw this in a few different places as well, although they could all be reporting from the same rumor. If true....mind boggling. Not only did he not need it because he's not ever shirtless anyway, but there are so many legal ones to take. I still say steroids, it just makes much more sense. Harder to go to the gym on the road, wants to be in top shape because he's the champ.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that there are legal substances that violate the WWE Wellness Policy.  Chris Jericho alluded to this on one of his shows while defending Reigns.

Well, if that is true and he just took a Vitamin Shoppe supplement, I would be surprised that the WWE just didn't tell him to knock it off in private. This is a big blow to him and them as well. His push has been derailed after all the promotion they put into him and I imagine the locker room would be a bit pissed if he was given the belt back immediately upon his return.

I wonder if we will ever know, surprised we haven't by now.
