Seattle takes a quick 7-0 lead on a perfect drive by Charlie "Beast" Whitehurst.

P.S. I just nicknamed him that because he actually sucks.

Wait is that a subtle shot at the our a1 leader?  :biggrin_mini2:

If Bradford had receivers, the Rams would be up 3 TDs right now.

I couldn't agree more. The fact that the Rams were even competitive this year shows you that Bradford is legit and deserves ROY barely over Suh.

This game is as shitty as a game between two losing teams should be.

There's offensive and defensive categories, so both Bradford and Suh will be honored this year.

Three out of four games next week have the team with the better record on the road, including the Seahawks at 7-9 hosting the 11-5 Saints. In the fourth game, the Eagles and Packers have identical records, but the Pack have the head-to-head advantage. If this isn't impetus for playoff reform, I don't know what is. Maybe they'll have extra time to think about it since there may not be a 2011 season...

Would the Saints losing to the Seahawks next week rank near the top of the list as biggest all time playoff upsets?

I think it'd surpass Super Bowl III for sure.

You can't even have a losing record and be bowl eligible..... Shit with 7 wins, the Seahawks would be playing in something like the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl... But they have "won" the NFC West... It's truly embarrassing. At least if the Rams won, they would be .500.... Dieon is on the NFL Network and just said it best.. people get fired for 7-9 records...

Not really. They played each other in Week 11 in New Orleans and the Saints won by 15. Not a tremendously competitive game. I expect New Orleans will win again, but it wouldn't be a blow-your-mind level upset if New Orleans travelled across the country on a short week and didn't get it done.

Dude that team is lucky to have 7 wins, they are awful. The only reason they have 7 wins is because they play in the worst division in the history of ever. I don't care if the Saints just finished back to back games with Baltimore and Pittsburgh, then had to fly to Seattle and play the Seahawks 2 days later... If the Saints lose...oh jesus I can't even think about it.

I'm glad Pete Carroll accomplished something in the most pathetic way possible.  Also, if they beat NO next week that doesn't prove they belong in my mind at all.  The fact that they shouldn't be in the playoffs or at least hosting a playoff game and the fact that they win are two separate things.  I don't think a win legitimizes the 7-9 Seahawks hosting a playoff game.

This was worse than the ATL/NO spot late last week to seal the game for the Saints.  Worse because it was far more obvious and they actually awarded the first down instead of giving them 3rd and inches as opposed to 3rd and 1 (that's how the ATL/NO went down).

I have less of a problem with them making the playoffs than I do with the fact that they get to host a team that was four wins better than them in the win column. I understand the need for the current system because it is the fairest way to go without drastic realignment that would put a strain on the entire league. However, if this system is going to be in place, they need to seed based on record rather than on who won what division. Getting into the playoffs is reward enough for a division Champion, especially one that finished 7-9. They should be the sixth seed. The Saints should actually be the second seed based on tiebreakers. And yet the Saints will play at Seattle. Unreal.

I just think people are getting a little too riled over the losing record and are beating the "worst team EVER" drum a bit too hard. For what it's worth, I think they probably are the worst playoff team ever, but not THAT much worse than any number of 9-7 or 8-8 teams that have made the post-season over the years.

So no, if they beat New Orleans, it's not going down in history as any sort of a ground-breaking upset. Just a 'big' upset.

To me, you have to put the line somewhere and there's a huge line between 8-8 and 7-9.  I agree though that it won't be a historic upset or anything.  That's in part due to the short week and the fact they are playing in Seattle.
