A1 Podcast: Episode 1: The Phantom Podcast
« on: September 11, 2010, 01:12:34 AM »
Well, it's finally ready!

Until I find a permanent podcast storage home, you can download the file here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/418358596/a1_podcast_ep1.mp3.html

We've got a bit of work to do, but I think it came out pretty well for the first shot with none of us really knowing what we were doing. Let us know what you think!

It was amusing.  Loved the random attack on Jerseyboy.

One thing that needs to be worked on is that listening to it with headphones, everyone's voices were coming out of the right side only.  Except for Prime(I think), who was only coming out of the left side.

Yeah... the software I used had an option to record to different tracks, but I didn't realize that was what I was going to get. I went to the left channel and everyone on the other side of the call went to the right channel. I'm going to change it to stereo for the next round, so that should be fixed.

Enjoying it, and I'm a horrible critic on things I'm involved in.

I couldn't listen, for that same reason.

Having said that, if you listen to this, please post about it.  I'm interested in what people think.

My personal first critique was you were a bit heavy on the F-Bombs, but that's just me and my own personal etiquette.

I think the format will become easier to work with once we get used to each other. Having a run-sheet here will certainly help.

I'm 8 minutes in, and I don't hate it. It sounds ok.

Except you can hate AJ because he calls people faggots as a babyface. He thinks that's how a babyface should speak.

My first critique is that you are a bit...dry, but that's just me and my personal taste.   ;)

But he's a hardworking country boy that does flips.  Doesn't that buy him the right to say a "faggot" or two?

Jack Brisco.  Dragon took the armdrag from Jack Brisco, not Barry Windham as I'd stated earlier.

Backed-up by Camel-Toe Blog: http://www.camelclutchblog.com/ricky-steamboat-dvd-review/

Quote
There is a great nugget early on in the documentary about Steamboat’s legendary arm drag. Steamboat confesses that he stole the arm drag from Jack Brisco. The DVD includes footage of Brisco using the same arm drag  years earlier. I have watched and learned a lot of wrestling in my 30 years but I had no idea that Steamboat took the move from Jack Brisco. That blew me away and if you think Steamboat had a gorgeous arm drag, wait til you see Jack Brisco’s.

My only critique is the talking over one another, but everyone already knows that. Maybe next time Sup could throw out a talking point and go around the room to give everyone a chance.

EX 1: What did you think of the final segment of the first hour on RAW last night? Prime, Unknown, Freakshow, Zandrax

EX 2: Predict the outcomes of next week's TNA PPV? Zandrax, Unknown, Prime, Freakshow

Sup did a fantastic job controlling the flow, but it was a little hard telling who was who occasionally. Freakshow is from Da-ko-tuh and Prime is living in my left speaker, but if it wasn't for the cursing I wouldn't be able to tell you other two apart.

I'm dry in real life so that's OK I guess. Probably explains the Mountain Dew cravings.

Freakshow's the one that sounds like Dennis Miller ;)

I'm pretty vulgar in real life, so at least we're both being real.

I'm listening now and think y'all did a good job.  I'm impressed with my boy Sup running the point, but of course I would be a bit biased about that.  I enjoyed it.

I just got to the the Angle/Swagger section of the podcast and I don't recall anyone agreeing with me about that comparison when I made it, but now the whole podcast panel is saying it.  I'm a trendsetter.

I think my favorite quip

Me: Undertaker is one of those guys that it doesn't matter, the gong hits and everybody goes nuts.

Freakshow: And 10 minutes later he's in the ring!
