I thought it was Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em?

But I can see why you'd be confused.  I'd be afraid my ears would bleed if I had to listen to an entire MC Hammer album.

Can't remember what cassette tapes I've bought beforehand...but the first CD I ever purchased was Snoop's "Doggystyle." 

I also remember the first MP3 I ever had.  It was U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" which I received from a friend on IRC.  Took over half an hour to transfer.
