Some fans searched the code on DC's blog and found Superman, Superboy & Supergirl covers.

Deathstroke looks really good, a little Batman-ish.

Why must every female comic character seem to go through a dominatrix phase?

It looks like JSA didn't make the list of 52.  DC sucks.

while not a fan of anything DC-related (except watchmen i guess) I do have an appreciation for comic books in general, and this kind of shit pisses me off.

so, all the more reason for me to continue not buying anything DC-related

A general rule:  If it has Grant Morrison or Alan Moore working on it, it's usually worth getting.

Like old runs of The Doom Patrol, Animal Man, Swamp Thing...

But yeah, the mainstream stuff tends to be lackluster.

Action Comics cover

Looks like something Superboy would have worn when older.

Grifter

Apollo, Midnighter, and Martian Manhunter

I love Grifter.

Don't much care for Apollo's look.  He's supposed to look like a sun god, not Vin Diesel.

God, that's terrible.

Wonder what this "reboot" is going to mean for Booster Gold, considering his entire concept is based around visiting older "modern" DC stories, like Giffen era JLA.  Does he get rebooted too, or will he remain the same and be able to go between new and "modern classic" DC at will?

...I still can't believe they're cancelling EVERY title for this.

It's hard to imagine, but if DC doesn't turn the kinds of profits they're expected to, is it possible they'll be shut down as an unprofitable enterprise?

I don't think this is going to be a final Supes look given the George Perez cover for Superman #1 shown before

This seems like the '90s all over again. It's Image Comics shit that has DC's name on it. How Matt Damon's special brother (Rob Liefeld) stays working, I'll never know.

Let me know when they 'retcon' this.

90's-ish is exactly what I thought.

And Wildstorm mixed with DC is a bad idea on principle.

I'm not sure how or when this stuff will be retconned again. The main reason for the entire reboot is the Superman lawsuit. So, DC is changing Superman. I don't think his origin will be the same as has been all these years, the S-shield is different, some rumors that his abilities are somehow weakened/gone and the reason for the armored look of the costume is to help his with that loss.

It's odd. Not sure that I like where this is going, but in the end its the same old crap. I do not like the idea of 4.99 for a comic w/digital download. That is obscene.

My understanding of the Superman situation is the Siegel & Shuster estates would gain the rights to the name Superman, and the original likeness. Notice the S is in a triangle and not a diamond.

And thus they would own the original powers. Remember originally Superman couldn't fly, and didn't have the heat vision, freeze breath, etc.... This would be the "more powerful than a locomotive, faster than a speeding bullet, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound" Superman.

DC would own the modern look, and presumably the look of the George Perez picture

Notice the "red underpants" look is gone (thank God), and the S is a little more stylized. I still think there will be some sort of settlement that will keep Supes in the DC Universe, but that's just me. Still, a guy that looks like Superman without the names "Superman", "Clark Kent", "Lois Lane", "Krypton", etc.... will be a tough pill to swallow.

Well, no, you are sort of in the right direction though. Superman will be shared rights thru DC & The Shuster/Seigel clans. What this means for DC is that they are creating a new mythos for the character. What this also means is that the S & S Fams can also go to say Marvel with those same character elements from the original, but also using the Iconic S shield and have them publishing a Superman comic as well as DC.

Removing the pants doesn't make much sense, since a lot of heroes have red underwear.

Why limit it to removing the underwear, and not the distinctive blue outfit and red cape as well?

Red underwear may seem kind of hokey, but that's the Superman look.
