I feel like this team isn't as bad as their record. It seems like they have been a tad unlucky with RISP. By no means are they a good team, but I have seen far worse Royals teams in my years of suffering.

A friend is at the Royals game right now. In the middle of the 8th, when the teams were switching, they started playing Fandango's theme.

They got swept by the Yankees. They still had a nice offseason and can maybe win the always mediocre AL Central.

They are falling fast and will probably end up with 74 wins. This year is extra special in KC because it's the tenth year anniversary of the historic 2003 team which was the only Royals team to go over .500 over a full season in the last 20 years. I feel like this year and next year there is a small window to go finish over .500 before Shields leaves and we have to go back into rebuilding mode.

But seriously, this has been a fun season. They went 9-1 and only gained 1 game on the wildcard spot because Detroit and Cleveland went 9-1 and 8-2 in the same period. Most Royals thing ever.

Royals still hanging around in the WC Chase. 3 games back of the Rays and Rangers with the Indians and Orioles ahead of them, as well.

KC needs to sweep the Rangers at home this weekend to be a serious contender heading into the final week of the season.

Royals lead the Mariners for the 2nd Wild Card by 2 games with 6 to play. Royals trail the Tigers by a game in the Central and Oakland by a game for the 1st Wild Card.
