All this stuff is certainly coming.  Don't know how quick, but I'm fairly sure that physical media isn't going to go away as quickly as the techies predict.  There's too many folks out there who just aren't going to adopt it that quickly.

There are people out there that still can't even use a computer.  A lot more than people think.

and if they impacted the business at all bb wouldn't have had to declare bankruptcy.

True.  But I still say physical media has a good 10+ years left.

Netflix still uses physical media too though so I don't think that's necessarily true.  We still watch most of our movies on the DVDs that Netflix sends, not streaming.  Being able to stream was only part of the reason helped to kill BB.

Late to the party, but was busy on TheOnlyDevice.

And I agree, streaming is likely a very very small part of the equation.

if they can't use a computer, how the hell are they getting netflix?  there aren't enough computer illiterate people who buy/rent dvd's to impact the business in any meaningful way.

Regardless, a large part of the Netflix model is still physical media.

i was only arguing against that one statement about non-computer users.
