Selig exploring possibility of more teams in the post season
« on: September 24, 2010, 11:59:20 PM »
Color me not a fan. The one wild card per league is just fine.

If he wants to explore anything explore getting rid of the stupid team that wins all star game gets home field advantage and either DH for both the NL and AL or no DH at all.

It should be the team with the best/better record gets homefield.

I agree though. Eight teams in the playoffs is enough.

I agree.  Get rid of DH altogether and figure out another way to settle homefield.

There already is a way. Best record should get home field.

That's the best way, but honestly I don't really care so much how they change it so long as they change it from this setup.  I'd go back to alternating leagues tbh if it meant the All Star game was taken out of the equation.

He should revisit contraction (see: Royals, Pirates).

Agreed with the thoughts. 8 playoff teams is fine. Baseball and snow don't mix very well.

1. Get rid of the DH

2. The NLDS should be 7 games not 5

3. the team with the best record should have home field

4. salary cap

If they can find a way to do it without extending baseball into november, I'm fine with it. If they were to have one scheduled doubleheader for each team per month, it could be done.

And I'd have a DH in both leagues.

1. Get rid or let both leagues have one. But I side more with you on the getting rid of it part

2. VERY agreed.

3. Yep

4. Been over this before with stf I believe but I like that there's no salary cap. If you can afford to pay the players than you should be allowed to do that. Baseball is one of the last true bastions of capitalism and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Marlins too?

I will say since you mentioned KC that Kaufman is a fantastic place to attend a game.

contraction definitely needs to happen. Way too many teams and not nearly enough talent to support it. If it wasnt for the the international markets of talent half the league would be filled with AAA scrubs. Why the fuck does Missouri have two teams? I mean really.

Can't really add the Marlins, because they are competitive more often than the Royals or Pirates. Also they have a new stadium on the horizon.

I might try to get tickets to the Royals next year when the Cubs visit.
