I think nearly 40k showed up to watch them beat the Marlins last night. That's awesome for a weeknight during the school year. The Braves were top 5 in attendance for pretty much all of the 90s.

I went to see the Tigers play on Friday, they have long since been eliminated and the game meant nothing.. It was cold outside that night too... They drew 34,000... That would practically sell out the trop.. And this in one of, if not THE most economically challenged markets in the country.

Yes, the Rays attendance is disgraceful. Major League Soccer had a franchise in Tampa called the Mutiny when they first came into existence that folded, but had equal to or more people in the seats than that.

Florida sports in general that aren't college don't do very well. Even with some recent championship teams, attendance is still shitty. Listen to a Dolphins home game, it's like a Royals afternoon game. Everyone is quiet.
