Giant Monster Smackdown SF: Voltron vs. Ultraman
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:17:09 PM »

Hands down the most popular incarnation of the VOltron franchise. "Lion Force" Voltron is a team of five robotic lions pioloted by humans that can form into one giant robot, "Voltron Defender Of The Universe". Each lion does have its own abilities, but for simplicity and Slugfest's sake, the lions have already formed Voltron, so we'll concentrate of weapons and abilities of Voltron itslef.

The lion heads can fire missiles out of their mouths, and can even launch themselves as an attack. Energy beams can shoot out of Voltron's eyes, and the cross on its chest can stun or blind enemies.

Of course, Voltron's signature weapon is The Blazing Sword, which rarely fails to chop enemies in half. On occasion, Voltron has been able to whip out a similar javelin weapon, but the sword is usually the weapon that finishes an opponent.

A longstanding figure in Japan pop culture, Ultraman is one of the earliest humanoid sci-fi combatants.

Ultraman is an very accomplished hand-to-hand fighter, able to pull of attack moves and combos with phenomenal skill, speed and accuracy. He can vary between human size and 40 meters tall depending on opponent size. He also has varying telekenetic abilities, and a space armor that can protect against most attacks.

In addition, Ultraman has an assortment of energy based attacks, most notably the Spacium Ray that can finish most opponents. He also has a ring that can fire the Ultra Slash.

Ultraman's main weakness is that he can only remain powered on Earth for 3-5 minutes before requiring recharging in the sun, or returning to his human host. However, since Slugfest battles are on a celestial plane away from Earth, this may not be a problem.
