What are you gonna use to record Skype?
I use Pretty May, and get decent results....I think I'm gonna switch to Pamela though.
I would also suggest using a USB headset over a standard mic (assuming you're staying on the cheaper end of things.)...the sound is MUCH clearer.

Tonight (and next week) I'm going to use a standard mic, but when payday hits on the 15th I'm going to grab a proper headset.

As far as recording goes, I've been trying Audacity, but I'm getting mixed results. I will likely go to Pamela.

Yeah, Audacity and Adobe Audition seem to only work right, if you have certain types of sound cards.
Pamela and such work regardless, and you get pretty good sound quality.
Also, just as a heads up...if you use any sound clips during the discussion, I've found that there's sometimes an echo on the voices of the people you're recording with afterward, but you only hear it on the recording.
Make sure you try that during your test, for future quality purposes.

I won't be adding clips and stuff until the post-editing happens. Once I get the clips and music and stuff, I'll start inserting that live, but for now we just want to get the discussion and audio down pat.

I am only good at Audacity for Rifftrax creation. Never tried actually recording anything.

qft

Although, the last 20 minutes talking about chicks with dicks and other tiny members really set the tone for everything to come.

Seriously, though, I'm sticking with one-liners.  Everything else comes out like some sort of sick version of mad libs for Alzheimer's patients.

It was fun for a trial run. We'll have some on air chemistry in no time. But no, I'm not spooning with any of you fags.

I had a blast.  We did tend to step on each other a bit, but I think the overall flow was pretty good.  For the record, I'm willing to accept any criticisms, even though I won't listen anyway.

It was fun.  Like the others mentioned we'll have to work on some things, but some of that will come as we do more of these shows.  I was trying to time my "A1 mentions" in a somewhat timely manner.

Agreed. I think there can easily be some camaraderie that can develop once we get used to the groove.

You could if you'd take the stick out your ass and install skype. :) It's not like it's actually going to "do" anything to your computer.

But yeah, like the others said... It was no bad for a first trial run, and on e we do this a few times and really get the chemistry going, we just might have something here.

I think if we add a little more structure maybe, and not rely *totally* on winging like we did tonight, then those breaks and timing issues will go away, I think.

Good start though, folks!

When can I listen to it?  I am getting another new comp in a month that will have skype with it.

I was thinking a run sheet, distributed to the "on-air" personas.

Maybe Zandrax could fix us up with some background music for the bumps as well.  Or, at least have Norko record a few and hand Zanny an arsenal of conversation stoppers.   ;D

I could always do a reggae or acoustic cover of Badstreet USA.

See?  You already know what you need to do.  No smirking though.  Do it earnestly.

I'm going to try and have it all edited and ready to go today. I do have to mow the grass and run a few errands, but I should be able to get it done.

FS, yeah, we need a run sheet, so we know what the hell our topics are. I also want to get Norko back on Skype and have him do some intros and lead ins and stuff and edit those in when necessary.

I'm also going to get a chat room going here on the web site that the on-air folks can monitor for questions/comments and talk about those on the show.

I can do it serious. You're talking to a guy who's done punk covers of John Denver.

No offense meant.  I temporarily forgot that "Straight Man" is your whole schtick.  Won't happen again.   ;)

When we do the preshow, we could work out the run sheet and what not, be best to do it close to showtime so we can get to our opinions when we get there, and they're fresh in our minds.  Let me know when you need me to record some of those things.

How's the editing coming along?

I didn't get much done yesterday, and today I was out of town visiting my parents.

Good thing is, I've got NOTHING planned for tomorrow, so I will be doing the editing then.
