You'd think there'd be an audience for a modern day remake of Wing Commander on current hardware

i like galactic civilization II, although it's not a shooter per se.  but you can design your own spaceships and it's awesome.  i had an enterprise, and a tie-fighter, and an x-wing, and a few other that i just kind of slapped together.
