Topic: Who else is getting MoP?

Seeing as WoW is my digital crack I will be getting this.  Not as excited for it as I was for Cataclysm but happy to see some new content.  Anyone else?

do they still charge a monthly fee for wow?  i must have sunk $300 or more into that game, and now that I'm two expansions behind I doubt if I'll ever get back into it. 

have they introduced some kind of $100 lifetime subscription yet?

A friends quitting with this expansion, after having been on board since the start and leveling like 6 or 7 characters to the current level cap.

I begged him to let me play his characters before his subscription runs out, since he's quitting anyways, and he won't let me.

At this point, it would take forever to work from vanilla to the current expansion, so I'm a little intimidated at the thought of just signing on myself...  You know how it is, when you're way behind the curve and feel more like you're working a job just to get caught up, instead of having fun..

you can play the basic game up to lvl 20.  but that doesnt include many of the xpacs (including mop).  so there will be certain areas you cant go to.  you also cant send mail or get in a guild (not sure you can even party with others).
 
i started playing again a couple months ago.  i have 2 lvl 85s who have all blues / purples.  lvling thru 60 is not only a new game in many areas (compared to pre-cat), but it's very very quick.
 
i thought it was gonna suck, but many of the quests are so different it feels all new.  after the 2nd character tho, you've pretty much done most of the new quests (not all of the old areas are like new).
 
the dungeon finder is a god send.  it makes it SO much easier to get in dungeons.

ok, so i got my 85s to 90 a few weeks back.  panda land is tons of fun, but as usual, i get bored quickly.  i started a panda monk, a belf priest, and a belf hunter.  i got bored with the monk and priest.  hunter is fun tho (altho, it's even easier to play than the dk) and ive gotten it up to 66 now. almost exclusively leveling thru dungeon runs.  just one after another.  and now im into the new (to me) burning crusade dungeons.

Hm..  My vacation starts next week..  Could be a good time to get into this thing..

Btw, anyone know what's the deal with those high xp hack servers?  You can't actually transfer your toon into a legit game when you're finished leveling, right?  Seems pointless, if that's the case..

i sersiouly doubt you can transfer a bs character to a legit server.
 
they did have a deal where if you get someone to join up or come back to the game, either you or he gets a lvl 85 toon.  can't remember the specifics.
