GAMING ICONS R1: Chris Redfield vs. Marcus Fenix
« on: September 27, 2012, 09:24:45 AM »

Chris Redfield is an American Special Operations Agent (SOA), as well as a Special Operations Unit (SOU) Captain of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (B.S.A.A), of which he is a founding member, along with his long-time partner; Jill Valentine.

Chris is proficient with many types of weapons, particularly handguns, shotguns and sniper rifles. He is an expert marksman and once the S.T.A.R.S. top sharpshooter who won a shooting tournament, being the victor over Forest Speyer. His accuracy, precision and focus is fantastic, enabling him to hit long distance targets accurately. He is also an experienced knife fighter.

In addition to his weaponry skills Chris is very tough as an unarmed combatant. Chris was proficiently trained in several fighting techniques such as CQC. In Resident Evil 5 he has put himself through rigorous physical training to increase his muscle mass, making him incredibly strong and resistant. He is capable of sending lesser Majini flying, and able to bring the largest to their knees with a single punch.

Marcus led a promising military career during the Pendulum Wars. During the Battle of Epyhra, he abandoned his post to rescue his father, Adam Fenix. Marcus is unable to save his father and is later court-martialed and sentenced to 40 years in a dilapidated prison. At the beginning of Gears of War, Dom Santiago, his best friend and long-time comrade, liberates Marcus from the prison. He is recruited to help the ‘Delta Squad’ deploy the light-mass bomb, but the group sustains heavy casualties during their mission. When their commanding officer, Lt. Minh Young Kim is killed in battle, Marcus is promoted to the lead of the group. He retains the position throughout the Gears of War trilogy, and plays a pivotal role in helping humanity defeat the Locust Horde and Lambent forces and is instrumental in the destruction of both species, personally killing the Locust Queen and having a major role in the deaths of the two Locust Generals, RAAM and Skorge.

Marcus is truely awesome and baddass, but I think he's overmatched here.  When it comes down to weapons, liquid nitrogen grenade launcher is > anything Fenix could bring to bear.  And than there's this:

Or Gatling Gun or Rocket Launcher or Jailbreaker.

Let's not forget the Flashbang's at his disposal or the Proximity mines he could litter the battlefield with.  Chris would win this hands down no contest.

You're talking like these guys have time to go in there and prep their arena before the fight... I've always pictured it as two combatants get dropped into an arena at the same time and they go at it. They're not going to have hours beforehand to set the area up with mines, sheesh.

Who says he set's them up ahead of time?  He's laying that shit down as he goes.

But if we go with two guys just dropped in an arena that says to me we're talking hand to hand combat now which Redfield easily wins as well.  He goes toe to toe with Wesker, a certified Superhuman who DODGES BULLETS.

Hey according to the games that guy runs around with a bag full of ammo, landmines, first aid sprays, a rocket launcher, shotgun, sniper rifle, submachine gun/assault rifle, and grenades.  Yet despite not having it in his carried inventory he also has a pistol with a ton of ammo as well.  Let's also not forget the machete of a knife he has  :laugh_mini:

Grenade Launcher is pretty much all I used.  :D

My inventory was basically that, a heal thing, and the rest dedicated to piles of my favorite grenade ammo, which is nitro rounds.  You know what happened to Simon Phoenix in Demolition Man?  It's just like that, exactly.  And it covers a wide range, so aimbot on..
