Counterpoint: That Rock concert shit was hilarious!!

Vickie dresses up in stuff that is not flattering intentionally. She wears stuff hat is too tight around her stomach on purpose so that it makes he look chubby. Look at the shit she wore out when The Rock was singing to her. She is build pretty damn nicely (gfy, she is!) but he tries to play the role of a chubby old hag that thinks she's a 20 year old model. THAT'S WHY IT'S FUNNY TO MAKE FUN OF HER LOOKS, HE TYPED IN ALL CAPS!!

It's amazing the people that bitch about that segment do not get this. As I keep saying, the jokes still fit with Vickie's character, thus it was totally acceptable comedy.

Eh...if folks don't have an issue with the Rock calling Punk "Cookie Puss" or calling Daniel Bryan "Goat Face", I don't see why there should be an issue with him busting on Vickie Guerrero's looks either.  Chivalry and gender equality are totally diferent things and I would hazard to say that the one pretty much negates the other.

And really, is it offensive if it's true? Vickie's not fat but she's fugly as all hell (IMO).

Equality only exists if there's, y'know, equality. Especially within WWE, women are on a lower plane than men are, and I'm not sure it's debatable. You want to point out an insane false equivalency by saying that if Alberto del Rio is allowed to make fun of Big Show's weight, John Cena or The Rock should be allowed to make fun of Vickie Guerrero's weight or looks? Fine, you can have that opinion, but it's still goddamn stupid to me. You don't get to say "HEY GUYS LET'S MAKE EVERYTHING EQUAL OKAY NO CALLSIES BACKSIES!" and continue on pretending that the game has changed without any work put into it.

You ignore the reason that Alberto del Rio can call Big Show fat because a) Show spent the last five minutes saying that Mexicans were gross without saying those exact words, and b) because Big Show can get the chance to get some kind of revenge against del Rio (even though Show himself kinda brought it on himself) by knocking him out in a wrestling match.

But Cena or Rocky calling Vickie fat or ugly despite the fact that Guerrero may or may not have done anything to deserve it? What recourse does she have? None. She's not fighting a battle. Her role is to be bad at her job, and then when she gets insulted, she bows her head and looks sad, because that's all fragile little women are allowed to do in WWE. Bow their heads, look sad, and finish matches against each other with rollups. That's it. She doesn't get to knock The Rock out in the ring. The battle is a false equivalency, because it's set up from jump to the point where Rock comes out on top, even if she "stacks the deck" against him.

(oh, and if we remember correctly, what did Guerrero do to Rock that made him want to call her ugly and stupid and bad at her job? Only ask for peace and quiet so that she could do her job, and before that, make life a living hell for the guy he's going to wrestle at the Royal Rumble. Hey, thanks for being on my side, Vick! YOU'RE AN UGLY SLAMPIG LOL GUISE GIMME A HI 5 OKAY?)

The reason why I try to argue against these things isn't because I'm majoring in women's studies or I have low testosterone. I could have minored in women's studies in college or I could have low testosterone for all we know, but neither of those things matter. It's compassion for human beings and wanting people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and genders to be able to sink or swim on their own merits. The only people who are allowed to do that are straight men, and most of the time in a company like WWE, it's mostly white men with a few tokens that are allowed to represent their races. Notice how Kofi Kingston has sunk like a brick down the card now that Big E. Langston is around? But I'm sure that's just a coincidence, guys.

If they really wanted me to hate Vickie Guerrero, they would have had her wrong Rock on Monday and then have Rocky sing a cutesy little song about how she's awful at her job as the lede instead of having the impact of it be about how LOL UGLY GUISE. The fact that because that's how I see things that I get to be LOL LOOK AT THIS PUSSY WOMEN'S STUDIES GUY ALWAYS STICKING UP FOR GIRLS HE HAS TO BE A WHINER DOESN'T HE? speaks more about you than it does me.

Again, you guys have fun in your bubble where white men are oppressed and society bends over backwards for women, gays, and minorities. I'll be in the real world actually looking at things for real. If that makes me a hypocrite, then fuck yeah, I'm the biggest hypocrite in the world.

That certainly explains his involvement in Farooq's "Bigger, Badder, Better, and more Samoan" version of the Nation of Domination.

If you honestly think that all Vickie wanted was peace and quiet to do her job you are one of the most naive people on the planet. I can't see how anybody could have watched that segment and thought "Poor Vickie, just wanting peace and quiet..."

She was clearly throwing her power around trying to rain on the reunion of friends and make the all important Rock shut up. She even went so far as to say "Do you have anything to say to me?.... ROCK?!". She was daring Rock to say something cute, likely so she could pull a power play. Rock was smart enough to see that, and chose to wait until he had the spotlight to fire back.

TH, the way you are portraying the initial confrontation between Vickie and Rock is hilarious...and inaccurate.  Zandrax is right, Vickie was clearly up to her usual awful tricks so Rock clowned her.  BFD, I say.  I mean seriously, two old friends meet up giving them and the fans a feelgood moment and the authority figure comes out and breaks it up (obnoxiously, I might add) and you're arguing she wasn't heeling it up there?  OK.

I'm banging my head because I had shit in the way tonight stopping me from watching RAW, from podcasting for Geekville, and above all things I'm just trying to grasp what a show it was that I missed.

That's my head banging to myself for having missed an opportunity to have posted something relevant for once so Chus would stop singling me out.

I agree with TH about the WWE, but this is the WWE we're talking about. The standard rules of the real world don't seem to apply there no matter how much we want it to or no matter if the WWE hires a former PGA golfer (who has a partner!) as head of talent relations.

Part of me wished during that segment with the Rock for someone to stop the Rock and tell him he's over the line (but because it's Vickie Guerrero that person would appear to be a heel).
