Reading the results, I hope CM Punk goes on Raw tomorrow and publicly asks for his release. That finish seems to be Good Ol' Vince raging backstage and saying "it's my company damnit, I can do whatever I want."

I did not see the show, but I'm going to have to disagree with Poe.  To me, they did a decent job trying to keep heat on everyone with that finish.

Punk will (rightfully) claim that he beat The Rock and Vince abused his power to try to take the belt from him.

Rock looks good because he argues against Vince taking the belt off Punk and opts to continue the match.

Both guys will have hot angles coming into RAW tonight because of this.

Also please stop with all the "Rock is an actor" stuff.  While true, you're making it sound like this is on par with giving David Arquette the belt.

Is he really?

http://www.the-numbers.com/person/72720401-Dwayne-Johnson

Mixed bag. Get Smart made $130 Million?

Like I said, how much do you credit The Rock for Fast Five? His only real starring vehicle was Faster and that did poorly. The rest were Disney movies that were hit or miss.

he's a bigger star across the US than anyone else on the roster.

he's a bigger "super"star world wide than anyone on the roster.

i just dont understand why they'd do rock vs cena again.  i mean, i understand why THEY want to do it, but it doesnt seem to me that rock vs cena is going to do better than last year - if anything it will do slightly less because of the "i just saw that last year" factor.

I have been telling you: Cocaine and Steroids. He isn't going to live much longer. I kind of wish Punk was an even bigger dick than normal and mention how Rocky would fail a wellness test on RAW.

steroids arent dangerous.

No, but it's pretty close. The only difference is The Rock used to be a wrestler and he has actual athletic talent. I can think of at least five guys (Ziggler, ADR, Sheamus, even Cena and Orton) who would deserve a WWE title reign more. And guess what? They work more than 3 months out of the year and wrestling is their day job!

So what you're saying is that the only difference between The Rock and David Arquette is everything?

The Rock is an actor inasmuch as Anne Hathaway is a porn star. I wasn't thrilled he won at all, but Jesus Christ, be intellectually honest.

Basically, yes.  That is his argument and it's not exactly a winning one.

I completely understand why people don't like a part-timer like The Rock winning the title.  I personally think it's a good move or at the very least an understandable move.  Like TH said, it's one thing to dislike it, but at least be intellectually honest about what happened.

You're ignoring the value that putting the title on The Rock can have as it relates to mainstream publicity.  Even if it doesn't help drive business you have plenty of time to put the belt on all these other "full-timers" if you would like.

I wouldn't have, mainly because the lead up to Brock getting the title wouldn't have been calling CM Punk FAGGOT PISS LLAMA CUNTSTAIN HAR HAR I HAVE BALLS AND YOU HAVE LADY BITS IF YOU SMELELELELELELELELELLAWL WHAT MY DICK IS SHOOTIN AMIRITE GUISE?

I'd hazard a guess that many of the same people who hate this would hate that too in fairness to them.  I don't have an issue with either of them holding the belt though.

To me the much more frustrating thing out of last night was Cena winning the Rumble even though I understand why they did it.  That guy is reaching Hollywood Hogan/Triple H levels with me.

I still think the contrasting styles between Rock/Punk really enhanced the feud.  Why it doesn't work with Cena and Punk as well is that Cena doesn't do serious or funny as well as The Rock.

I would totally agree there if The Rock's character wasn't such a gay-baiting, woman-hating piece of shit for the most part.

I don't think he focused on either of those issues nearly as much as some make it out by the way.

That goes back to the taste and sensitivities discussion though and I'm not really interested in arguing that again either.

agreed, brock lesnar doesn't represent every attitude you're expressing a dislike for to an even higher degree.

*literally ignores brock being a racist, sexist, homophobic shut-in*

yeah, because Lesnar in WWE has totally embraced all those things (although to be fair, he's been on what, three shows total? Hard to establish character when you barely show up)

some yeah.  but for those hating this because the rock is exactly like arquette except for all the ways he's not like arquette wouldn't have a reason to hate brock winning cause brock is nothing like arquette except for all the ways he is like arquette..........

I get your point Chus, but I think the contingent that thinks Rock should be feuding with Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler probably also dislike Brock Lesnar.  How big is the overlap? I don't know.

Now I would be curious to hear Poe's take on this issue specifically.

rest assured, if they give brock a live microphone, he's gonna say something worse than rocky's vicky guerrero song. i remember when they tried to interview him to hype up his second UFC fight. it was just a cookie cutter interview meant to promote him and somehow he ended up saying "i don't like homosexuals. write that down in your little notebook." the dude is a supercunt.

i think that's why he has heyman as a mouthpiece.  because he somehow lost his ability to filter himself between his first wwe run and his ufc run. he also got into a bunch of shit for pissing off a ufc sponsor during his post-fight interview.
