Another fantastic Ronda Rousey fight, this time making history in the first ever UFC's women's fight, the main event, and first ever UFC women's champion. I remember years ago Dana White told then MMA fighter Debi Purcell this would never ever happen.

Gina Carano could have been the first, but she didn't have Rousey's talent and eventually got beaten up bad. This is also another first round armbar win. Her opponents know this is coming, but Ronda has an amazing calm and technical sense to get you into that position.

First time in a long time that I've watched a fight and felt such an emotional reaction from a victory. All in one f'n round. Superb. Thought she was screwed with the face crank, but fuck Ronda is tough. Carmouche is stronger, has better definition in her arms and is a harder hitter, but she still couldn't escape the armbar. That's part technique, but a big part in pure focus. One of these cases where all the hype really isn't over-the-top. She is the real deal.

i am officially a Lizbo. carmouche was awesome before, during and after the fight. i hope she uses all her ppv money to buy a kitchen table and become an even better fighter.

how is her being an Armbar Autist such a bad thing to some people? it's not like her one trick is a boring 25 minute decision like GSP's. it's a first round submission.

She needs to win some 5 round decisions before I take her seriously. I felt this way about Tyson and Cro Cop when they started going through their opponents with the same one punch or one kick knockouts.

Cro Cop got KTFO smack dab in the middle of his prime by Randleman.

I'm pretty sure RR will armbar Cyborg if they ever fight.

Who has noted that Carano is a bad fighter? She lost one fight to a post op.

It isn't really. My point was really that she looks stronger yet Ronda seemed to be able to overpower her. Definition doesn't really come into that.

I guess I don't really know that much about Carmouche though, maybe she isn't stronger. Certainly looks it.

When Rousey escaped the face crank, she looked a little out of it. I thought Carmouche had a pretty good chance to win if she could just extend the fight. She almost made it out of the first round but Rousey locked the armbar in and there was nothing she could do.

Right now, the key to beating to beating Rousey, if there is one, is getting her out of Round 1. See how good her stamina really is.

Trying to finish with a face crank takes a lot out of you too, especially if you don't pull it off. Rousey seemed fine to me, she adjusted her bra strap and got back into business.

Hope Tate beats Zingano to set up the rematch with Rousey. Hot chicks in a main event - win. The original Strikeforce fight with its build was incredible.
