OK!!! Big red flashing lights!!! I'm not trying to go into a political discussion (HONEST!).
 
Here's my question: In the 80s, you had all kind of comic storylines and special editions about how oppressive the government was and blah blah, Watchmen, TDKR, all kinda shit.
 
In the 90s, you had the Marvel Civil War.
 
How come you don't see a whole bunch of stuff now? I know that comic writers are liberal, but, really? Not one motherfucker wants to work up a story about how the guy who claimed to be their guy turned out to be Bush2.0 (and again, I'm not talking about that politically, I mean how come no one even wants to approach that idea from a storyline perspective?)?

Marvel's Civil War was 2006-2007.
 
I havent read a comic since 6/2010, but the X-Men have been somewhat political since forever.  Their entire theme is being distrusted / hunted by the government.
 
Cap and others have had political comics.  In 2010, Bucky Cap went to Washington (I think) and confronted 1950s Cap (brought back by Red Skull) who was leading an american militia / terrorist group.

Obama was on a Spider-Man cover. To me Obama represents everything the common man (like Spidey) loves (zomg I'm common like you), but turns out to be what they hate in the end (cardboard politician).

Cap's the opposite. He'd die fighting for his country, but not necessarily the guy that's running it.

I've honestly had real life discussions on political leanings of superheroes. My life is that pathetic.
