Pretty cool trailer. I'm only up to Davison and I caught like half of the references in there.

I enjoyed Day Of The Doctor overall, I guess I was just expecting more old school references. I also don't get why they couldn't have  just used McGann, especially since he did the minisode.

Well....

[spoiler]McGann Doctor did regenerate into Hurt Doctor/War Doctor, who regenerated into the 9th/Ecceleston Doctor.

My question is where does The Curator (Tom Baker) fit into all of this? Is he a past regeneration coming back but in a non-Doctor role?

Oh and we saw the first appearance of Peter Capaldi as The Doctor in a 'blink and you might have missed it' cameo.

Yeah, the minisode he regenerates, but since McGann was only in that one TV movie, there is a lot of space that could told.

Here's the hilarious short film by Peter Davison. What they do with John Barrowman is hysterical.

If there was a Curb Your Enthusiasm like show with Peter Davison and the others in it, I would watch it.

So the Matt Smith era is officially over. How did everyone like his finale?

Hasn't aired yet here at least. On my catch-up I'm only on Smith's first season, though I did see the 50th.

I do hope Capaldi is more old-school. The show needs to go back to having an old fart at the helm.

Watched it tonight. i don't have the attachment to Smith as I do some of the other Doctors, but he did very well with some of the "old man" scenes. I don't like retconning, so now saying that 9 is 10, 10 is 11 and 12, and 11 is 13 annoys me a bit.

I do look forward to Capaldi, though.

Yea that is a retcon but at the same time it is clearly been hinted at.  I've actually called it for the past few years that The Doctor is a lot further along in re generations than people think he is.  Sure you've been present for some of those convos Z.

I watched this tonight.  I'm shocked. I think this is the first major storyline plot point episode that has NOT involved a retcon in order to advance the character and story.

I watched the show and despite some major plot issues (including the complete deus ex machina at the end), it's one of Moffat's better episodes (even though the Vincent Van Gogh episode is the best and the 50th Anniversary episode was better than this).

I'm excited that Capaldi is the Doctor....one of the few times in which he just feels right when you see him.

Not Christmas Special related, but I can't help but think the "900 years old" bit is a gimmick. Colin Baker was saying he was 900 years old, and that was in 1984, long before The War Doctor stuff.

The Doctor is more likely to be 2,000 years old now. But Rule #1 in Doctor Who: The Doctor Lies. Even to himself.

Capaldi practically sold me with this expression

Maybe it's just me but it gave me flashbacks to

Hopefully you'll see why Troughton is important to the history

The Second Doctor was the first to use a sonic scewdriver, eat jelly babies, and pull random things out of his coat.

Could be a fake, but if this is the new Doctor's look, I'm all for it.

finally saw the christmas special the other day.  didnt really think it was anything special.  no big twist or anything like that.  the previous doctor's death was much better.

Much.

You couldn't help but feel bad for him.

Although, why does he keep fearing death, when he knows he'll reincarnate?
