Brock's matches are big events, like his UFC fights. The title matches are big, but only sometimes. Having Brock defend the title 3-4 times until Wrestlemania will bring the title back to prominence. Constant defending and switching hands makes really knocked it down recently.

Heyman can carry the title around when Brock is not there just so it's presence is felt. You can close out a PPV with a #1 contender's match, make that seem like a big deal like how it used to be.

This is all correct. But we're dealing with a 70 year old who changes his mind with each swig of energy drink.

I hope they stay the course.

Yeah, Vince has been extra brutal lately with his mind changing because he lost $300 Million. Still, I am sure they will stay the course with Brock. He did just end the streak and squash Cena. You don't want to waste that by having him lose at Night of Champions.

I think the real worst case is that Brock defends it every month and that wouldn't be bad because Brock is awesome.

And who knows,... Brock has had three whole matches this year. Maybe he has half a dozen dates left in his contract.

I can't imagine any way in which closing out a PPV with a #1 contenders match could ever feel like a 'big deal.'

Ridiculous.  They used to do this stuff all the time, back in the territory days, with great success.  All it takes is some good booking and the discipline to stay the course until the audience is educated to what's going on.  You could argue that they no longer have the booking smarts and/or the discipline to do it, but that's a separate argument.

Back to the Network itself... was anyone else having HD issues with the first two matches? Meaning that it was in SD for some portions.

I had a couple of pauses where just clicking the reload solved the problem, but didn't notice any clarity difference.

My hunch is now that there is a true international audience the traffic has increased.

No issues but I was a half hour behind at first, then I fast forwarded some shit and I was about 4 minutes behind by the time it ended. I think being a bit behind the live feed helps with a consistent feed.

That could have been my issue. I was very behind and was pausing the show a lot. The main event had just started for me when the PPV went off the air (10pm CT), but that was with a lot of fast-forwarding or I would have been further back.

I couldn't even get the replay of Summer Slam to load on my PC last night but we got it to load on our 360.  I find video's having a hard time loading on my PC a lot now.  Using Chrome.  On a whim I tried Firefox and found no issues.

Internet Fans and all their rules kill their enjoyment now.  It's almost like if they dare enjoy something that they think isn't good for business they won't be able to keep their IWC cred.  I saw a guy argue on behalf of non-finishes on free TV because clean finishes should be saved for PPV.  You're telling me that you actually enjoy non-finishes more?  No, you just want to be "smart."  That's all.

And I'm positive the only way somebody would respond that way is because they read itin some dirtsheet, forum, or website that THAT'S how you build a feud.

Sure it can work with the right story, the right talent, and the right heat, but it's got to feel organic and not just Chapter 2.

So am I the only one who can't log in to the network through their computer?  Trying through both Chrome and Firefox.  Both pull up the Network's home screen that gives the info about it and ability to sign up, click the Log In button in the upper right, and the page refreshes and that's it

I had never used Firefox till I tried it on there last night so it wasn't a cache issue.  Tried again this morning on Chrome and now it's working like normal   :unknw_mini:

Another solid NXT special.

Fatal 4 Way had some killer spots. There was one where Aaron Neville did a shooting star press and his foot kicked Tyler Kidd in the head on the way down. I still don't know if it was intentional.

KENTA was introduced. And for those who haven't heard, he announced that he has changed his name to Hitomi Tanaka.

I can live with that scenario. Anyone who complains is a fucking whiner.

They need to make money on this somehow and I don't want them to take it away from me anytime soon!

That's me.  If it helps make it more successful then let's do it.  I've said that all along.  Ads aren't a deal breaker for me even though I pay $9.99 a month for the Network.
