COSMIC HEAVYWEIGHTS R1: Captain Ginyu vs. Captain Marvel
« on: September 22, 2014, 09:47:32 PM »

The leader of the Ginyu Force, Captain Ginyu has a power level second only to Frieza himself within Frieza's army. Outside of the force, Captain Ginyu is feared for his strength. Within it, he is known for his charisma and loyalty to his team, and the Ginyu Force love him for it. However, he is not without his quirks. He creates various poses- some of them rather questionable- in order to invigorate his team and raise morale. He also has various dances that he performs per command, though he does seem to enjoy them- The Dance of Joy following every successful mission (ordered by Frieza's father), The Daddy's Little Princess Dance following every Dance of Joy (ordered by Frieza's brother ), and The Dance of Solitude when he's alone. Despite his overwhelming power level of 120,000, though, Ginyu's most devastating technique involves his ability to swap bodies with his opponent, leaving them with his wounds and taking their power- assuming that they're not using a technique that enhances their abilities like Kaioken.

When Billy Batson says the magic word "Shazam!" and transforms into Captain Marvel, he is granted the following powers:

S for the wisdom of Solomon: As Captain Marvel, Billy has instant access to a vast amount of scholarly knowledge, including most known languages and sciences. The wisdom of Solomon also provides him with counsel and advice in times of need. In early Captain Marvel stories, Solomon's power also gave Marvel the ability to hypnotize people. (Note that Solomon is the only figure in the list not taken from Greco-Roman mythology).

H for the strength of Hercules: Hercules' power grants Captain Marvel immense superhuman strength, making him one of DC Comics' most physically powerful characters; he is able to easily bend steel, punch through walls, and lift massive objects, (including whole continents like South America). In the comics, this strength has evolved in parallel to that of Superman. Presently Batson refrains from such power displays such as physically moving planets about though such feats would be within his magical abilities if he so chooses to do so.

A for the stamina of Atlas: Using Atlas' stamina, Captain Marvel can withstand and survive most types of extreme physical assaults, and heal from them. Additionally, he does not need to eat, sleep, or breathe and can survive unaided in space when in Captain Marvel form.

Z for the power of Zeus: Zeus' power, besides fueling the magic thunderbolt that transforms Captain Marvel, also enhances Marvel's other physical and mental abilities, and grants him resistance against all magic spells and attacks. Marvel can use the lightning bolt as a weapon by dodging it and allowing it to strike an opponent or target. The magic lightning has several uses, such as creating apparatus, restoring damage done to Marvel, and acting as fuel for magic spells. It can also turn other Marvels back by striking them. It aids interdimensional travel at the Rock of Eternity, which can allow time travel.

A for the courage of Achilles: This aspect gives Captain Marvel the courage of Achilles. In the Trials of Shazam! miniseries, this was changed to the Greek hero's near invulnerability. It also aids Captain Marvel's mental fortitude against most mental attacks. Pre-Crisis it was clearly stated that he did not get his invulnerability from Achilles.

M for the speed of Mercury: By channeling Mercury's speed, Captain Marvel can move at superhuman speeds and fly. This also gives Marvel the ability to fly to the Rock of Eternity by flying faster than the speed of light. Captain Marvel is the first superhero to have the ability to fly.

Batson was able to share his power with others who he thinks as worthy of such power such as his sister who became Mary Marvel and Freddy Freeman who became Captain Marvel Jr., but while in this state, each person is only in possession of a fragment of the full power of "Captain Marvel" as opposed to one person commanding all of it. By calling upon Shazam again, each member of the Marvels can once again return to their normal form and size; thereby allowing one of their number, such as Billy or Mary, to have the full power of the spell. There is one susceptibility to the spell that it can be shared with other personages who are of noble intent and purity, such as Superman, who once switched identities and powers with Captain Marvel, after being in close proximity with Billy Batson during one transformation. It is known that certain gods of sufficient power, such as Thor, can manipulate Shazam's spell and render Captain Marvel back to the human form of Billy Batson once more. When Billy Batson says the magic word "Shazam!", he is transformed into the magical champion, Marvel. In several older comics, like Whiz comics #15 and #21, if the Shazam was drowned out by another sound it did not take effect.

The Captain could turn into Billy by saying "SHAZAM!". Magic lightning can turn him back also. In the Trials of Shazam! miniseries (2006–2008), Captain Marvel assumed Shazam's throne at the Rock of Eternity, (under the name Marvel), and had access to all of the dead wizard's magical powers, allowing him greater control over magic. However, Marvel was required to remain on the Rock of Eternity and could only be away from the Rock for twenty-four hours at a time; he weakened the longer he was away. Weaknesses. High Order Magic: Only the strongest of magics can affect him in any particular way, such as those wielded by the Spectre.

Marvel is required to remain on the Rock of Eternity, and can only be away from the Rock for twenty-four hours at a time.

As Batson is still at base a human teenager, despite the enormous powers and awareness of the Guardian of the Rock of Eternity, Batson's emotional state can be overwhelmed or sidestepped over such knowledge and forebearance as shown recently when Black Adam was able to trick Batson out of his empowered form and strip him of the powers of the Guardian of the Rock of Eternity for his own agenda.

Ginyu lets Marvel win just long enough to get badly injured, then he shouts "CHANGE NOW!" and finds himself in Batson's body, while Batson is left in his own damaged body.  Sounds familiar

But Ginyu still wouldn't have Batson's power.  The power moves with Batson so now Ginyu is just in the body of a 12 year old while that 12 year old is in a warrior's body.  That's also assuming it's just Batson as in some realities it's multiple kids combine to become Captain Marvel

I could see him still having Marvel's physique but not knowing what to do with the powers.  Even so, won't matter if Ginyu's original body is sufficiently crippled.  Ginyu is a clever fighter
