New Japan, 1990 – A gaijin by the name of Big Van Vader had taken Japan by storm, and had won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. On February 10th 1990, Vader would meet one of his most fearsome opponents. None other than fellow gaijin Stan Hansen would collide with Vader in The Tokyo Dome. With Hansen a multi-time AJPW Triple Crown Champion, and Vader the newest monster from overseas, it made for a titanic struggle between two tough individuals. What some would simply call a HOSSFIGHT!
Wrestling historians may instantly recognize this match as the night Vader’s eye was physically knocked out of its socket.
