EVIL (1-1) p. Tama Tonga (1-1) with the STO. The two heels immediately went outside of the ring and started brawling through the crowd. Tonga whipped Evil into a vendor door. Minoru Suzuki (1-1) p. Juice Robinson (1-1) with the Gotch Piledriver. El Desperado accompanied Suzuki to ringside. Juice had a very good “brave face” on, meaning you could tell he was afraid, but was going to face the fear anyway. Suzuki attacked Juice before the bell and whipped him into the barricade. Suzuki tried a seond time, but Juice reversed. Desperado tried to attack Juice, but got whipped ito the barricade as well. Back in the ring Juice scored a near fall with a senton. Kenny Omega (2-0) b. Toru Yano (1-1) by countout. Yano offered Omega a CHAOS DVD as a gift. Omega was going to throw it into the crowd, but Yano pleaded with him to just open in. Of course, therewas powder inside and Yano kicked it into Omega’s eyes. Omega kicked out of a low blow, so Yano immediately when to remove all four turnbuckles while Omega writhed around blinded. Yano tried to cut himself free and was met with a V-Trigger. A second V-Trigger sent Yano to the outside where he failed to make the 20 count.
Kazuchika Okada (2-0) p. SANADA (1-1) with a Rainmaker. This is one of the matches I’ve most wanted to see when it was announced. Okada, arguably the greatest wrestler in the world, versus one of the hottest young prospects in the world. Feeliing out process to start things off, with both men sticking to mat based tactics. Sanada grappled Okada into the corner, and teased a break, but Okada reversed it and did his mocking clean break. Sanada knocked Okada to the outside to gain control of the match. Back in the ring a snap suplex got a near fall. Extended chinlock spot. Okada battled back with elbows and a DDT. On the outside, Okada hit his bodypress over the barrier. The two traded some dueling strikes before Okada hit a neckbreaker. Sanada blocked a rainmaker and hit a springboard dropkick. Back Suplex by Sanada for a two count. Sanada went for the Cold Skull Dragon Sleeper, but Okada made it to the ropes. TKO landed a two count for Sanada. Okada with a Tombstone Piledriver and Too Awesome Dropkick. Sanada reversed a Rainmaker into a Tombstone of his own and locked in the Skull End. Okada refused to tap, and eventually made it to the ropes. Slam and moonsault by Sanada, who went right back into the Skull End. Okada reversed out of it and hit a Rainmaker, leaving both men on the mat. Okada lifted Sanada for a second Rainmaker, which connected. Okada went for a third Rainmaker, and Sanada sparked to life, desperately going for reversals. However, Okada eventually landed the third Rainmaker to score the pin and remain undefeated so far in the tournament.
After the match, Okada cut a promo. Presumably his “I have three things to say” promo where he only has two things to say.
