Awwwwwwww shit.

I'm just gonna watch this unfold. I'm on the fence. If WWE says it was her idea, ok. If someone else is saying she had nothing to do with it, ok. I'ma need some more solid evidence before I blame either side. The only thing that is 100% certain is that it would be a shitty move to do that angle and not contact Flair or Reid's mother before doing it, and that appears to be what happened.

According to PWInsider, the connection is that Charlotte pitched the idea of dedicating her career to Reid's memory.

I am told the original idea came from a mention Charlotte made to WWE Creative at some point that her entire career was a tribute to her late brother.   That somehow gestated into the verbiage that was used.  Over the course of the day, certain aspects (I am not sure what) were dropped and others evolved.  It was not a situation where she was handed a script and told what to do but something she was presented and likely asked if she was comfortable going forward with the story, given the chance to give feedback and to prepare herself for the segment.  Any idea that she was ambushed or forced into the segment are fantasy.

Conrad whatever his name is from Ric Flair's camp among others say that WWE's version is BS.

Here's the deal though, I don't care who came up with it because it was tasteless regardless especially since they didn't even reach out to Reid's parents.  Not even the one who is in the business.

Lana's trying to get herself a storyline lolol

EDIT: this was Paige's joke, btw. In case anyone thought I was trying to take credit for it.

She is just destroying her own career with all of these things lately. Probably best to avoid twitter and just show bikini pics on Instagram for awhile.

That was pretty good right at the end there when Paige said the thing and Charlotte spazzed out. Good job all around. Especially upsetting old dirt bag Ric Flair, like his carny ass wouldn't have done the same at her age.

The only problem I have with it is that they didn't get approval from Flair and Reid's mom. Using it in the segment didn't bother me at all. The whole "Eddie's in hell" shit from like 2006 was way more tasteless and I feel like it didn't get half the outrage that this got. But then we're living in 2015, where OUTRAGE is the only thing everyone talks about anymore, and people get offended over anything and everything.

And it's not just that they didn't ask Ric, they didn't even call afterward to console him.

As for insulting Ric, I personally think he'd be fine with that because Lord knows he did it to others in his prime. Disrespecting legends is Heel 101.

And on top of that, they had the gall to release this press statement

“Subject matter this personal is only approved as a result of the strong advocacy of the talent themselves.  Notwithstanding that, WWE is ultimately responsible for what airs in its programming.”

Translated: It's all Charlotte's fault. She did it. Blame her. It was 100% her idea.... But we did air it.
