Some of them are truly bizarre. This latest I heard about with the Nyger Morgan incident.
Morgan being a dickhead notwithstanding, Volstad apparently threw at him the second time (which set off the brawl), because after beaning him early in the game, Morgan (who's team was trailing by 11 runs) stole two bases.
Apparently, one of the Unwritten Rules of Baseball is, when your team is getting creamed by double-digit runs, you stop competing and just try to get the game over with. Especially when we put you on base by deliberately drilling you in the back with a fastball.
If you're winning by 11 runs, stealing bases to pad your stats might be bad form, but when you're losing?
