It's bad enough that people post about POLITICS on Facebook... but the shear amount of people bitching about Halloween getting postponed or not getting postponed is 10 times worse. Now it's a fucking race. Holy shit, 90+ people dead and 100s of homes gone and people bitch about candy and running.

they had some stupid bitch on the local radio station call into the show to complain about how she's been training for over a year for the New York marathon, and it's not fair to her or the THOUSANDS of other folk who have done the same.  I guess she had no sympathy for the MILLIONS of people whose lives were interrupted/ruined by the storm.

This was one of the rare occasions where I started yelling at the radio about what a fucking cunt this dumb bitch is.  She doesn't even live in New York, so why should anybody care what she thinks?  Just another dumb, selfish bitch who is unable to think about anyone or anything other than herself.  I see a lot of those where I live (men and women.  sometimes the men are bigger bitches than the women).

I've never seen my facebook feed more united than yesterday's cries against the marathon. I know a few people who were scheduled to run (including a couple who tried to present the other side and did not come off well) and I get that it sucks, but 40,000 runners + support is not what Staten Island and the rest of the city needs right now.

haven't seen people complaining about halloween - I admit when the marathon complaints started I didn't get - but having it start a few blocks from the devestation and using generators that could be used for people with no power or gas stations - it was a stupid move on bloomies part

Being that today is Dr. Emmett L. Brown Day (don't forget to hang your bathroom clocks!), I've see people marking the day with BB threads peppered with random BTTF dialogue quotes. Gems like this:

a guy I work with lost his dog last week or so ago - it died.  I like the guy, and I feel bad, but the 20 posts a day on FB about how much he misses him are getting annoying.  a few days ago he posted his "last post" about buddy - there have been dozens since. He even compared losing his dog to losing his mother. Please!

I love cats, though I don't know that I'd cry over one dying on me. A dog, certainly. Dogs, at their best, are all vulnerable and needy. Cats don't give a fuck about you unless they're hungry.

I've cried over two cats in the last year. One, a kitten that we took in and found a new home for. The other, our long-time cat biscuit, who was lost for a week and thankfully found alive and well. We invest a lot of our heart in these animals.

I could run through all the stuff that's going on in the brain with pet bonding (and have on the podcast) but bottom line, connections develop there that exceed our connection to many humans.

Cats are awesome friends.  They leave you alone when you want to be alone and when you need comfort and support...they leave you alone as well.  Lucky you feed them or you wouldn't get any kitty ear scratchin time in.

Ice covered roads today.  Yet, as I was traveling home from work, I noticed people still risk life and limb to go to Planet Fitness, or Stop and Shop.  Can't that half hour treadmill workout or half pound of land of lake cheese wait a day?

The whole "pro gamer" mentality.  Gaming is serious business, and if you're not a superstar, or have no intentions of becoming one and just play to relax, you shouldn't bother.

It's why I don't normally play online.

That's why you either play in a party, or keep your head set off. Nothing says you have to listen to the idiots online. I'm an average gamer at best (reflexes are slower now that I'm nearing 40) but I get crushed regularly by 12 year olds - but I don't hear a single word they say.
