got 2 characters in inferno, with my wizard being the one i concentrate on to farm for my other guys.  also got witch doctor to 45, and barb to 17.  not making a monk any time soon, but planning on getting wd and barb to 60 in the next couple of weeks.  also got both artisans up to level 9 as well, and got about 600k gold atm (saving up for some upgrades).

hit me up in game if you got a character near my barb or witch doctor, or even better, if you got someone in inferno.

got inferno butcher on farm now, act 2 inferno is a huge jump in difficulty from act 1 (which is a huge jump from act 4 hell).

also pebble, tried to hit you up today to see if you wanted to run thru something or power level a guy for a few runs, but i think you didn't see my pm.  hit me up sometime if you see me on.

will do!

I'm all kinds of messed up in this game.  I'm simultaneously trying to level up a barb, DH, WD and monk.  I finally got the DH to hell, but the repitition is getting to me.  I'm doing it all single-player, which I think may be the problem.

i know the feeling dude, i leveled up wizard and dh to mid 20's, then changed class to witch doctor, leveled him to 36, changed back to wizard, leveled him to 40ish, switched to dh, leveled him to 45, switched back to wiz, capped him then capped the dh.

i ended up getting bored of running thru the whole game, so i ended up skipping half of nightmare on dh, and all of hell on both wiz and dh.  basically power leveled so i could get to inferno.  also, most of my playtime on wiz and dh leveling was duo with another wiz/monk friend.

i probably got a good wep for your dh though if he is in hell, my leveling weps on dh i haven't sold yet.

added you.

sold a warrior belt yesterday for 1.5 mil, got a few pieces of gear, act 2 inferno is much much easier for me now.  i got about 22k hp, 550-725 all resists, 29k dps, and 4k life on kill.  that last part is awesome, right now, my hydras heal me for 12,000 hp every time i resummon him.

anyone besides me here got a 60 yet?

tried to do inferno belial today, his snakes 2 shot me, so i had to be very careful.  belial stage 3 one shots me on everything but his poison breath, tried to solo it at least 40 times today to no avail, closest i got him was to about 40% in stage 3.  most deaths were in stage 2, probably about 25 there.  hardly ever died in phase 1.  ended up getting act 3 wp from a friend, and have skipped him for now, currently in act 3 quest 2.

also, found another set item today, gonna try to sell it on the rmah while people are willing to pay crazy prices for things.

Dirty helped get me through my last 3 or 4 bars to 60 and into Inferno. He's good people to have on your friends list. Now I have to completely regear for Inferno, haha.

act 4 hell now drops up to ilvl 62 gear (before, that was act 2 inferno+).  seems like if inferno is too tough, it might be better at first to do some act 4 runs and work on getting gear.  would still be better to try to do act 1 inferno though, since it now drops up to ilvl 63 gear (before, that was act 3 inferno+).

also, got a friend on my list who is crafting 6 affix ilvl 63 gloves, he is selling 10 gloves for 1 mil + mats (mats are 280 essences, 50 tears, 80 tome of secrets, and 875k gold, so he is doing it for about 12k a glove.  next lowest i've seen anyone do those for is 65k a glove, so he is really hooking people up, especially when 6 affix gloves have a chance of making gloves that will sell for $50+.

so save your inferno essences, and save your gold, it is almost like printing money.

patch 1.03 killed my enjoyment of the game.  losing half my dps and a ton of my survivability has forced me back into act 1, which i am completely tired of doing at this point.  sky high repair bills also make it seem not worth it.

i'm probably done until they fix the mess they made.

Hm..  Is this alteration based on fan complaints, I wonder?  The worst thing they could do is respond to fan complaints and try to "fix" the game.

Haters can go to Path of Exile or Torchlight 2 (And lovers can go there too, on top of D3.  :D )

Speaking of which..

Path of Exile is in closed beta, and a friend let me use one of the limited beta keys.

Basically, it's made mainly by developers of Diablo II in response to fans who weren't happy with the direction Diablo III was taking, and it closely models itself after Diablo II.  So far, I'm impressed..  The combat is sooo satisfying.  I just gained an ability to blow up zombie corpses like bombs, and it's just awesome...  And while it has microtransactions, they're cosmetic only, so you can play entirely for free if you want to.

Once it hits open beta, I'd at least recommend trying it out.

Here's a breakdown of how they stack up as of now, but of course this could change come August, the public opening of PoE:

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5889160813

Quote
Path of Exile .9.10f vs Diablo III 1.03

                                    Diablo III
Diablo III's 1.03 took more than 8 hours to deploy.
Path of Exile
Last night Path of Exile deployed .9.10f patch, the servers were down for approx. 1 minute.

Diablo III
Currently Diablo III has been released but it plays like we are in Open beta, there are blue posts, but the community feels like it is being ignored.
Path of Exile
Currently Path of Exile is in closed beta, but the Developers are very open to suggestions and feedback.

Diablo III
Multi-million company with a huge player base and fanboys. I can't count how many trolls there are in this forum. Diablo 3 took 12 years to develop.
Path of Exile
Indie company that has limited resources and trying to build its player base.
The community currently has helpful and respectful players. Current production time is at 5 years.

Diablo III
Few customization for classes. No skill trees or stats. Like someone said, the difference between my character and yours are solely based on gears.
Path of Exile
Fully customize-able classes with the skill tree so complex no 2 characters should be played the same, unless I tell you my spec and exactly what type of gears I am using even then you won't be able to replicate my gears/gems.

Diablo III
RMAH Auction house, pay to win.
Path of Exile
Ethical micro-transaction for cosmetic purposes only.

Diablo III
Diablo III 1.03 has increased repair costs and nerfed Inferno Act 3 and 4 to cater to casual players.
Path of Exile
Path of Exile .9.10f fixed small bugs, there are no repair costs. The game does not use gold as currency but a rather unique bartering system. Necessities are the commodities they use for trading. Example: Town Portal Scrolls, Scroll of Identification, Orbs to respec 1 skill point.

Diablo III
After you clear inferno Act IV there is no replay-ability except to try to farm and make $, I know all my friends are just doing that right now. Farm farm farm in hopes to get some USD.
Path of Exile
With random generated instances and organized Leagues including Cut-Throat, Iron-Man, and many more you can play this game for years to come.

Diablo III
$60 USD
Path of Exile
Free to play (currently in closed beta, you can sign up on their site and they give out closed beta keys away every 4 minutes on their website, or you can support them by donating 10$ to access their closed beta and receive 100 points to use in their microtransactions (stash tabs, character slots)

TL:DR
Having 200+ hours in Diablo 3, I am disappointed by this game. PoE, being free to play when Open beta hits in August 2012, you have nothing to lose but to try it out. I was reluctant at first because it didn't seem interesting to me. And I didn't think it was possible for such a small company to make a better game. But now I am addicted to it, by all means I am not telling you to go play it and if you are a troll, please don't come and ruin Path of Exile's small and close knitted community.

Thanks for reading.

The way I see it, it doesn't have to be a one or the other thing.  If you're happy with Diablo, play this anyways, because it's not costing you anything to do so..

So which class are you having survival problems with?

I just ran a Barb and Monk through up through the Skeleton King, and an co-oping with a friend who's taking a wizard..  I hear Monks more of a utility character, and I just like to kill stuff.  So bard or wizard sounds about my speed, and he's taking wizard, sooo...

none of the classes have survivability problems before act 2 inferno.  my main class is wizard.  i had about 42,000 dps and my hydras healed me for 14,000 before the last patch, and i had made it almost to azmodan (skipping belial).  after the patch, my dps dropped to 24000 and my hydras didn't heal me any more.  it made it so i had to go back to act 1 to not die all the time.

but really, don't worry about damage or survivability until you hit 60, game is a breeze before that point.

imo (with gear)

barb>wiz=dh>>>>>>>>>>monk>wd

(without good gear)

dh>wiz>>>>>>>wd>>>>>>>>>>>>barb>>>monk

every class has beaten inferno d at this point, but some classes are obv weaker than others and are in need of a few buffs.
