Then I found out they are making it an Always On DRM game. Fuck that. You aren't punishing pirates you're punishing the people who hand you their money for the game like me.
A pirate never sees the fbi warning at the start of movies that you can't skip through, because the rippers cut that part out. The only people who see it, are the people who watch a legitimate DVD. Everyone knows this, yet they continue to put the message in. Why?
I'm sure Beast or someone will come into this thread and point out a company has a right to do what they want to protect their IP's, and he'd be right. That doesn't mean such measures hurt pirates in the least, or do anything more than annoy paying customers.
Anti piracy doesn't work. I don't believe it curbs piracy, because the pirates always find a way to circumvent them. I only think most measures only annoy consumers, and causes companies to waste their money fighting a useless fight.
But "Something must be done", right?
But yeah, it's their right. If annoying drm ends up driving consumers away from their products, or even towards exploring drm free pirated copies as an option, that's on Blizzard..
