Argh, I wish this were true. I keep hearing multiple dates surrounding the release (Target is saying Feb 7th, Walmart is saying March 31st) and the people at Blizzard (some community manager) is saying the stores are 'making up dates' and they'll tell everyone what the release date will be.

It better hurry the fuck up whatever the date. This is the only reason I will ever game on my PC.

Played the first and second Diablo.  They're decent enough games, but nowhere near as good as the hype suggests..  Overrated, honestly, even though they're genuinely good, unlike the popular garbage that is the Call of Duty franchise.

The auction house is a really bad idea..  People will figure out ways to cut Blizzard out of the loop, instead of giving them a cut of the profits.

i liked both diablo games a lot.  really fun.  then came wow and blew it out of the water.

which is why i'm hooked on skyrim.  i mostly solo'd in wow.  just preferred it over to grouping up.  that's one of the reasons i'm loving skyrim.

anyway, i probably wont get d3 cause i don't have a good gaming pc.   i'm still loving skyrim.  and when i tire of that i'll get oblivion which is only like $20.

Blizzards known for their low system requirements, so you probably don't need anything near a gaming rig to play it.

DII was pretty good for it's time. DIII might not be on the level of WOW or anything as it took so damned long to develop, but it'll be pretty neat.

Battlefield's the shiznite.  :p

But I'm more of a TF2 fan anyways.  Cartoony gameplay for the win.

Couldn't wait, so I'm playing Titans Quest in the interim.

It's basically a Diablo clone, but a really good Diablo clone imo.

Blizzard has successfully astrocized me from every trusting their company again.  I used to love the hell out of their games.  I played the shit out of WoW as well.  However, as time passed I grew to hate and loathe the game as they slowly bastardized it.  I always had D2 to fall back on though so I WAS looking forward to D3.  Then I found out they are making it an Always On DRM game.  Fuck that.  You aren't punishing pirates you're punishing the people who hand you their money for the game like me.

A pirate never sees the fbi warning at the start of movies that you can't skip through, because the rippers cut that part out.  The only people who see it, are the people who watch a legitimate DVD.  Everyone knows this, yet they continue to put the message in.  Why?

I'm sure Beast or someone will come into this thread and point out a company has a right to do what they want to protect their IP's, and he'd be right.  That doesn't mean such measures hurt pirates in the least, or do anything more than annoy paying customers.

Anti piracy doesn't work.  I don't believe it curbs piracy, because the pirates always find a way to circumvent them. I only think most measures only annoy consumers, and causes companies to waste their money fighting a useless fight.

But "Something must be done", right?

But yeah, it's their right.  If annoying drm ends up driving consumers away from their products, or even towards exploring drm free pirated copies as an option, that's on Blizzard..

They still doing that?  And does it only apply to new members?

I've been dabbling with the idea of getting a years membership for awhile now.  The only reason I haven't, is because with my luck they'll release the original campaign as free to play JUST after I pay for it.

Also, starting from the ground floor is kind of daunting..  I'll be playing content no one's into anymore, or cares about, which kind of ruins the MMO aspect..

Very few MMOs have NO folks in the early stuff.

Not that I'm trying to talk you into getting a year of WoW.  I generally refuse to pay for a monthly MMO.  Don't want the expense/obligation.

That's the same month as Max Payne 3.
I think Activision/Blizzard wanted to be dicks and completely kill any hope of Max Payne 3 doing well.

You can already download the installer. On May 14th at 8am PDT you can actually run it. The servers turn on at 12:01am PDT on 5/15 and if you have it installed from the day before you'll be able to log in right away.

I hate when they use the pacific midnight instead of the eastern one. Better to let the west coast in at 9pm than make the east coast stay up til 3 just to start playing.
