Oh, and there's that Women's World Cup final today.  Don't know if anyone's paying attention to that, though...

Don't forget about Copa America.

Uruguay knocked out host Argentina on penalties in the Quarterfinals yesterday. Both sides were playing with 10.

This afternoon has Brazil/Paraguay, which should be a good one.

Paraguay won on PK's, knocking Brazil out.  Crazy games.

Paraguay advanes to the Copa America Final without winning any of their 5 matches. It'll be The Battle of the Guays on Sunday.

Just got back from the Sporting KC-Newcastle game.  Had a ton of fun, mostly because of the Cauldron.  Ended in a scoreless draw, but it was an enjoyable game.

At one point, one of the Newcastle players went down like he got shot, so the Cauldron section started chanting "Zinedine Zidane! *clap clap clapclapclap*"  They made it a spectacle.  As soon as I get a chance, I'll upload some of the pictures and videos.

Some photos from the game last night.  The video I took ended up being quite awful.  Camera doesn't have steady shot for video and the audio clips badly.  A shame because some of the chants and songs were great.

I follow several of the SKC players on Twitter, and they had the time of their lives last night.  I love that they're not above talking to the fans and still have this sense of wonder about being able to hold their own against clubs like Man Utd and Newcastle.

Just now watching the Seattle-Man Utd game.  Was spoiled on the score, but 20 minutes into it United is looking good.  Seattle doesn't look bad either.  Owen's goal was nice.  Hope he'll be able to end his career on a high note.

Fun penalties between the Galaxy and City. The Galaxy had a 16 year old taking one of their penalties. Joe Hart (!) scored the winner for City in the 9th Round (7-6).

Ha, what a knob.  If I were the manager, I'd probably keep him benched for a couple of games to teach him not to be such a dumbass.  Glad Joe Hart got to take a PK and win the game, wish I would've known it was on.

The second half of the Seattle-Man Utd game?  Yeah...that didn't go quite as brilliantly as Seattle was hoping it would.  Still, the score wasn't at all reflecting the level of play.  United had a fantastic keeper and Seattle looked good despite it all.

The MLS "All Stars" were beaten again by Manchester United, this time 4-0.  Not that the game means anything, considering the MLS team only got to practice together twice while Man Utd has been playing together for a lot longer.  On the positive side of things, Besler and Bravo looked good.

In National Team news, Bob Bradley was replaced by Jurgen Klinsmann as head coach.  Hopefully he'll be able to get them to start playing the full 90 as opposed to only the second half.  First game is Aug 10 vs Mexico.

Stupid Seattle Sounders.  KC's undefeated streak came to an end tonight in controversial fashion.  Omar Bravo was sent off with a red card for a dangerous challenge.  In the aftermath, one of the Seattle players threw a punch and stayed in the game.  The MLS refs are AWFUL.

The Premier League starts next weekend.  Can't wait for it!

KC playing Portland tonight.  Zusi scored a great goal from a ways out.  Should be celebrating, but someone in the crowd threw something(apparently it was an Omar Bravo bobble-head that they were giving out tonight) at KC's GK, Jimmy Nielson.  Hit him in the eye, drawing blood.  They patched him up and he's continuing on.

Hope whoever threw it gets thrown in jail for assault.  Stupid fucking mindless thug.  Wouldn't mind hearing that he "tripped" down a flight of stairs and broke his teeth.

I had no idea Robbie Keane is now in MLS.

Also, during the DC-Chicago game a few days ago, a CM Punk shirt in the crowd was pointed out by the ESPN announcer.

Keane joined a week or two back, I think.  Seemed like it was one of those "out of the blue" signings.

Man Utd vs Spurs is on right now.  About 10 minutes left, it's been a great game.  The score does not reflect how even it's been at all.

Tomorrow should be a good day in the EPL.  Manchester City vs Tottenham and Manchester United vs Arsenal.

Holy shit, Arsenal is going to file charges because United beat them within an inch of their lives today.  Hard to believe that Arsenal is supposed to be the second best team in England.  United scored like they were playing against a bunch of kids.

Not quite as bad a beating in the City-Spurs game, but still a beating.  Gonna be a weird season.

That was an all out destruction on North London football today.  Man Utd 8-2 Arsenal and Spurs 1-5 Man City.  I'd argue that Man City's performance was more impressive today, as they were away from home and Spurs are playing better football than Arsenal.  Arsenal had that beating coming.

Although, I'd give performance of the day to Real Madrid, who destroyed Zaragoza away from home, 5-0, in their opening league game.  Hat-trick for Cristiano Ronaldo too.

Must have been one of those days where the big teams were just on fire.

Also for anyone that has a chance to see the game, I'm almost certainly going to the Sporting KC/LA Galaxy game on Monday.  It'll be on Fox Soccer Channel at 6PM Eastern.  DVR it and look for the fat guy in a Psicosis mask, cause that'll be me.

USA lost to Costa Rica.  Not a great omen of things to come.  The US attacked hard in the first half, then kinda of half-assed it in the second.  CR's goal was sweet.

SKC 3-1 LA, though according to the ref, it was 2-2.  Worst ref ever.  Old Spice got a yellow for being a douche.  Can't wait to go back.

edit: after watching it, LA did score the first goal, so KC drew LA 3-2.  The offside call against KC was BS as Collins had his feet planted in front of the LA defender, but was leaning behind him.

Also: the only shot of me I could find from the broadcast, which is what everyone has been waiting for.  Never taking that mask again.  Was way too hot and very annoying, since every time I moved my arms the horns moved all over the place.

US lost to Belgium 0-1 yesterday.  I'll be honest, it was a really boring game and the future of the team doesn't look all that great right now.  Sure, Landycakes didn't play(he was too busy being a dick in KC), but a lot of the starters were in it.  Hopefully it was just a throwaway game and the real changes are coming.
